The number from #McKinsey's State of AI that stuck with me: nearly everyone is using AI now, and about 6% are actually seeing it in their financials.

Every quarter at Sierra, we celebrate the end of the quarter with Double Denim Day (or, as some like to call it, Canadian Tuxedo Day) 👖. This Q3, we needed a lot of denim to celebrate the most remarkable quarter in Sierra's 2.5 year history.
We added over $150M ARR this quarter, bringing our total ARR beyond $400M. Remarkably, we added more ARR in one quarter than we had all of last year.
The most exciting thing to me is that our pace is accelerating. It took us six months to double from $100M to $200M ARR, and only five months to double from $200M to $400M ARR.
@claybavor and I are grateful to our customers and proud of the entire Sierra team.
True? What are your thoughts? I see this first hand. #AI
sigh… RIP 🙏🏼
REMEMBERING PATRICK STEWART
Patrick Stewart, the legendary actor best known for portraying Captain Jean-Luc Picard in “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and Professor Charles Xavier in the “X-Men” films, has died at 86.
His family said in a statement: "We announce with great sorrow the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart yesterday at his home in Los Angeles, in the loving care of his beloved wife Sunny, following a brief and poignant journey with Alzheimer’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia."
"His sonorous voice and singular talent will forever be synonymous with indelible performances in every genre. He explored the human condition in all its poetic complexity and brought hope not only to the far reaches of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but into science fiction’s most iconic final frontier aboard the Starship Enterprise... He will be remembered for the dignity, compassion and humanity he brought to every role - in his art and life."

Key data point from #McKinsey's #StateofAI: about a 1/3 of companies have passed on buying a piece of software because they can now just build it with AI #codingtools.

Most of the AI conversation is about the frontier labs and the Fortune 500. I'm bullish on a tier below that, companies doing 50M to a billion in revenue. That's where the more interesting things are happening.

WILDWOOD' is at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, the highest rated animated film of the decade.
• "Wildwood may be LAIKA's true masterpiece" - @THR
• "A masterpiece of stop-motion animation... with a battle sequence that rivals the work seen in 'Game of Thrones' or 'Lord Of The Rings'" - @NextBestPicture
• "A cinematic achievement that we won't see the likes of again" - @FilmHoundsMag
See Wildwood this Friday exclusively in theaters.
This has been the trending story for the last 10 months #services
Sequoia just made a bold claim:
They think the next $1T company will NOT be a software company.
Their take?
Services will be the new software.
Because SaaS companies have spent 25 years fighting over a smaller budget in comparison.
For every $1 companies spend on software → they spend about $6 on services.
For reference:
• A company might pay $10K a year for QuickBooks.
• And $120K for the accountant who closes the books.
AI has completely changed that.
Now, a company can sell the finished WORK instead of the tool.
Here's how the 3 models compare:
TRADITIONAL SAAS
• The customer buys access to software, and their own team runs it.
• Growth is capped by product + distribution.
TRADITIONAL SERVICES
• The customer buys people's time + expertise
• Growth is capped by hiring.
SERVICE-AS-A-SOFTWARE
• The customer buys a completed piece of work.
• Software handles most of the delivery, with the provider's team on decisions + exceptions.
• Growth is capped by how much of the work software can do reliably.
Something to keep an eye on.
Flashy use cases get the #AI budget. The boring ones get the return.
Pick the least exciting problem you have. Those tasks are boring, repetitive, rule-shaped, & quietly expensive, which is exactly what AI is good at. Start where it’s dull. Thank yourself later.

Something I consistently see in #midmarket companies and beyond. Leadership debates #AIstrategy while half the team is already using #Claude, #Gemini, #ChatGPT or #Copilot to get through their day.

Great points @DanniChenGTM we tend to run with blinders on
Silicon Valley is an AI bubble. X is the bubble inside the bubble.
Outside the bubble:
134.8M US households
~2.7M pay for AI (2%)
~132M pay $0 (98%)
What America actually pays for:
Streaming: ~123M households (91%)
Cloud storage: ~74M households (55%)
SiriusXM: ~34M households (25%)
AI: ~2.7M households (2%)
If your GTM plan is built on what your SF group chat pays for, you are selling to the 2%. The market is the other 132M households, and most of them have never seen your timeline.

The OpenAI-Hugging Face hack was enabled by weak sandboxing. It is great that Nvidia is releasing open source tools for sandboxing AI agents. OpenWorker, our open-source agent harness supporting cybersecurity workflows, is proud to support this.
A sandbox gives an agent limited permissions. OpenWorker is building on Nvidia OpenShell and will support running each agent's commands inside a sandbox. Only the files relevant to the task go in. Secret API keys, your web browser login credentials, the ability to access arbitrary websites, are inaccessible to the agent by default. These restrictions are implemented in deterministic code rather than by prompting an LLM, which can make mistakes or be susceptible to prompt injections. Further, all actions are logged for monitoring and audit.
I'm grateful for @JensenHuang's leadership making AI agents more secure. OpenWorker (which @rohitcprasad and I are working on) will continue to improve security for agents.
Today, with over 100 industry partners, we introduced the NVIDIA Open Agent Safety Platform, bringing together OpenShell and Sentry.
Artificial intelligence is extraordinary technology that will advance discovery, productivity, security, health, and prosperity for generations to come.
But its full promise can only be realized when people have confidence that AI is being built to be safe and deployed with wisdom and responsibility.
This is bigger than a single product. It's the beginning of an open ecosystem to build the trust layer for safe agent systems.
Together, we are building the foundation of the AI economy.
Trust and innovation are not in conflict. Safety is how trust is earned. We must build not only the most capable AI, but the most trusted AI, so that this extraordinary technology can realize its enormous promise for the world. nvda.ws/4hcoq7m
