In your “western democracy” The guy on the left lost 1 Billion dollars for saying nice things about the guy on the right
Kylian Mbappé lost all his Chinese sponsors this morning after saying Mao Zedong was a dictator This would never happen if you call any U.S or EU leader a dictator I choose Westen democracies over China and autocracies any day of the week!

To us Chinese, Mao Zedong is our hero. Mao uplifted farmers and the working class in China, united the Chinese people, led us to defeat foreign invaders, and founded an independent country so we could all live with dignity. Mao supported the heroic struggle of the African people against imperialism and colonialism. He was one of the greatest leaders in world history, and one of the most demonized by the West.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Mao Zedong is under any single social metric a dictator. Not a single popular election, single government party and lifetime leadership. Not even taking into account the millions of deaths under his reign. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mao_Zedong

Due to too much hollywood movies, Nigerians believe the FBI is one omnipotent entity that can wave a magic wand and solve every crime and arrest anyone anywhere in the world. They have no idea that it is their local law enforcement that actually does the work the FBI ends up taking credit for. The reason why your local law enforcement or military is seen as weak internally is simply because your leadership takes instructions from the U.S. government. Your puppet leadership works for Washington, not for you. That’s why you see the U.S. as your personal lord and saviour.

The thing about imperialism is that it is ubiquitous and impossible to avoid. Nigerians who think they can have intelligent discussions around politics, economics and business without acknowledging imperialism are just like a castrated man who wants to marry a wife and have kids, but doesn't want to acknowledge his condition. I'm sorry, but just because you're in denial, or the subject makes you uncomfortable, or you don't want to upset your white friends and investors by talking about it does not mean that this 800-foot elephant in the room is going to disappear. The imperial system you live under is why you eat imported rice and your bread is made with imported wheat, while your own agricultural land is used for industrial monoculture plantations growing export crops you can't eat like cocoa and cashew. Imperialism is why your kid goes to school wearing a neck tie, a wool sweater, a thick blazer and cotton socks while the temperature outside is 33⁰C. Imperialism is why you put on your TV news and the presenter is chewing her tongue desperately trying and failing to mimic the accent of a public school headteacher from Abingdon-on-Thames, whereas literally nobody in the history of her watching audience has ever sounded like that. Imperialism is why your central bank interest rate is always double digit, which means that consumer credit is literally nonexistent. No amount of roundtable sessions, seminars, and breakfast meetings with the bankers committee and PhD economists can change that basic eternal reality of your economy. Imperialism is why despite having double digit central bank lending rates, your currency somehow manages to always face inflationary pressure and regularly posts double digit percentage losses in a single day. You can do all the clever economic chart drawings and financial engineering you want, but they are completely useless in the face of imperialist decisions like Structural Adjustment Programs, which you experienced by other names from 1986 to 1988 and from 2023 to 2025. Imperialism is why you can have all your lovely ideas for leadership and governance, and a young population that is hungry for good leadership, but everytime you go into a "democratic election", you end up coming out with Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Tinubu. You can read all your "Why Nations Fail" and do all your "PVC sensitisation drives" and do all the "protect the votes" on election day, and at the end of all the wahala, the INEC chairman will announce that a crippled goat with craw-craw has won the election and if you don't like it you will go and meet Kekere-Ekun in court. Imperialism is why when you are having sex with your partner, you moan in English and make American noises even though you've never left Owerri before, and your sexual encounters always happen with a specific sequence that starts from oral and culminates in doggy - it's because all the porn you have ever watched in your life has been hosted and curated by American platforms, and you have over time taken on their sexual personality as your own. Imperialism is why you build with cement blocks plastered with concrete in your 34⁰C climate, even though concrete generates vast amounts of heat as it cures, and it can take years to fully cure, during which time it slowly cooks you in your own house - but rammed earth which your ancestors used is only just becoming a thing once again because white people have "discovered" it and put a brand on it that makes it desirable after they once labelled it as 'primitive'. I could go on and on. As long as you're determined to avoid confronting the ubiquitous and all-pervasive reality of imperialism in Nigeria, you're not really ready to confront whatever problem you are facing, from food to healthcare to education to public policy to poverty. If you're not acknowledging that underlying reality, you're just another Nigerian wasting their whole life performing the appearance of thinking, and creating useless content.

Everyone needs to know what actually happened in Serbia. Instead of students just protest against their government, the students organized themselves into a student list and ran in elections against their government—and they have just won. Dear Serbia, congratulations on your victory; you have just opened a new door in protesting. This is history

Cleopatra. You picked Cleopatra. Out of three thousand years of ancient Egyptian history, three thousand years of pharaohs, pyramids, medical texts, mathematical papyri, architectural achievements that engineers still study today, you reached for the one ruler whose dynasty wasn’t even Egyptian. The Ptolemaic dynasty was founded by Ptolemy I Soter, a Macedonian Greek general of Alexander the Great. His descendants intermarried obsessively, and we mean obsessively, sibling-marriage-as-policy obsessively, within their own dynasty, while also marrying into the Seleucid royal family, founded by another Macedonian general, Seleucus I Nicator. What the Ptolemies were not, in their dynastic origins, was indigenous Egyptian. They were a Hellenistic foreign dynasty that ruled Egypt for its last 275 years before Roman annexation. At the very end. Before them came the Persian conquests. Before the Persians came over two and a half millennia of Egyptian civilization. So your argument against the Africanness of ancient Egypt is: the last dynasty, installed by a Macedonian conqueror, whose ruling family maintained its predominantly Greek bloodline, wasn't indigenous Egyptian. That's like arguing Britain was never Celtic because William the Conqueror was Norman. You have just independently confirmed that foreign conquerors took control of a civilization that had existed in Africa for millennia before they arrived. Thank you, Mike. You walked in to rebut the argument and handed it ammunition instead. The pyramids were not built by Macedonians. They were built by ancient Egyptians. Africans. More than 2,500 years before Cleopatra was even born.

You sound like Netflix trying to make Cleopatra black when she was clearly White. They got denounced by Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Supreme Council of Antiquities for their nonsense.

The lie about Africa was not a small lie carelessly told. It was a structural lie, deliberately constructed, institutionally maintained, academically defended. It required the renaming of things. Egypt became, in the Western imagination, not quite African. The pyramids became a "mystery," because the alternative was crediting Africans with their construction, which the framework could not accept. It required the discrediting of Arab and African scholarship about African history. It required the dismissal of oral traditions as legend rather than history. It required deciding that writing on paper counted as "civilization" and other forms of knowledge transmission did not. It required, essentially, redesigning the criteria for what counted as "civilization" so that the places being colonized would fail the test. The test was not neutral. The test was written to produce a specific result. And that result was: "Africa has no history worth the name." Therefore what colonialism destroyed was not civilization. Therefore what colonialism did was not destruction. This is not an accusation of individual ignorance. This is a description of institutional architecture, built over centuries, maintained by people who understood exactly what it was for.

Queen Tiye, Great Royal Wife of Amenhotep III, mother of Akhenaten and grandmother of Tutankhamun. Ancient Egyptian artists preserved her likeness more than 3,300 years ago. In 1954, Hollywood cast white American actress Judith Evelyn to portray her in The Egyptian. An absolutely uncanny resemblance, wouldn't you say? Apparently, historical accuracy stopped at the costume department.

How many more Sudanese lives must be lost while the world looks away? The silence must end. The world must hold those responsible accountable. Shout now: Free Sudan! 🇸🇩
