Families coming to our southern border fleeing oppression or economic duress is an invasion, but dropping 180,000 pounds of high explosives on a sovereign country (and threatening to attack other targets) isn’t war. Republicans have a weird way with words.

Why are Americans indifferent to Trump's corruption? Not one reason. Many. ✔️The documented corruption is so large: +$4.1B in family enrichment... it exceeds most people's framework for what's possible. ✔️No single outlet has assembled the corruption into one coherent picture. ✔️Fox, Newsmax & Truth Social actively suppress it. ✔️The cost of speaking exceeds the benefit, given who controls the enforcement apparatus: rational fear. ✔️The firehose of falsehood is exhausting ppl's capacity to distinguish true from false. It exhausts the capacity to care. ✔️For roughly 31% of eligible voters, criticizing Trump feels like attacking themselves: a cognitive defense mechanism. ✔️It's the result of a functioning propaganda system. ✔️The scale itself produces a kind of cognitive paralysis that reads as indifference. ✔️The farmer losing Medicaid while paying tariffs while his export markets disappeared isn't indifferent - he's been successfully misdirected about who's responsible.

Exactly. Full marks. No notes.
When people say that immigrants should adopt "our" culture. They ARE our culture. Rock and roll, jazz, country, blues, and most of our music was derived from "Call and response," which came from Africa. Irving Berlin, who wrote the song "God Bless America," was born in Russia. Our food comes from Europe and all over the world. Apple pie comes from Holland. Burgers and hot dogs come from Germany. Pizza comes from Italy. Barbecue and most "southern food" came from slaves. Sitcoms are derived from vaudeville, which was brought by the Irish and many other immigrants. Hollywood and Broadway are what they are because of Eastern European Jews. Sports? Baseball was inspired by cricket. American football came from rugby. Basketball was invented by a Canadian. Our railroads were built by the Chinese, Mexicans, freed American slaves, the Irish, and other immigrants. The New York City skyline was largely built by Italian immigrants. Science? Einstein and Tesla were immigrants. Andrew Grove, who we owe for the semiconductor, came from Hungary. Sergey Brin, from Russia, cofounded Google. Levi Strauss, from Germany, gave us denim. Jonas Salk, whose parents were immigrants, gave us the polio vaccine. Ukraine's Selma Waksin developed the first treatment for tuberculosis. More recently, Katalin Karikó helped develop mRNA vaccines. John Shalikashvili, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, came from Poland. And you know something about every wave of immigrants? There were people then, just like now, who complained they would never assimilate. American culture isn't something immigrants assimilate TO; it is the assimilation OF immigration.

Fuck off, you guys cheered on Trump as he danced on Mueller’s grave, called Tim Walz a “retard”, posted AI fat shaming memes of Pritzker, and AI videos of Obama getting arrested. You created this environment. You don’t get to run away now.

The U.S. doesn’t exist in a petro-chemical vacuum. Unless the administration plans to execute eminent domain over all U.S. oil fields and nationalize the industry, the U.S. economy will be adversely affected by the global oil shortage created by the closure of the strait.

If Trump himself were a building, it would be this. All flash and performance. Nothing of real significance or substance inside. Poorly executed and garishly extravagant. Because to him that equates to value.

Is America going to keep bombing Iran until they run out of Ayatollahs? The only sure way to effect regime change is to put boots on the ground. Is that what you want? Not all Iranians want to see regime change.

BREAKING: WE ARE ENRAGED! Trump accuses Ilhan Omar of staging the attack on herself after a man sprayed her with an unknown liquid in a horrifying town hall assault. This is a disgusting new low for this pig of a president... ABC's Rachel Scott reports that she asked Trump if he had seen the video of Omar "being attacked and sprayed by a substance." “No. I don't think about her," said Trump, who constantly thinks about Omar and regularly insults her. "I think she's a fraud. I really don't think about that. She probably had herself sprayed, knowing her." When pressed to answer if he had seen the video, Trump said: "I haven't seen it. No, no. I hope I don't have to bother." Any other president would have reached across the aisle after a traumatic incident like this to check on Omar. But Trump doesn't care what happens to his political enemies and in fact enjoys when they're the targets of violence. Words fail to articulate the full depth of the disgust we feel for this man. He is a total sociopath. The incident in question occurred at a town hall in Minneapolis. A man charged Omar and sprayed her with a syringe full of what Reuters described as a "foul-smelling liquid" while she was in the midst of condemning ICE's brutal terror campaign in Minnesota. "ICE cannot be reformed, it cannot be rehabilitated, we must abolish ICE for good, and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem must resign or face impeachment," Omar said right before the man surged up at her and demanded that she "resign." The attack was caught on video and shows another man seizing the assailant and tackling him to the ground. Omar, never one to shrink in the face of danger or intimidation, can be seen stepping towards the man as if preparing to strike him in self-defense before realizing that the situation was under control. She went bravely back to her speech after taking a short break to recover. "We will continue. These f*cking a**holes are not going to get away with this," Omar said defiantly. "During her town hall, an agitator tried to attack the Congresswoman by spraying an unknown substance with a syringe," said Omar's spokesperson. "Security and the Minneapolis Police Department quickly apprehended the individual. He is now in custody. The Congresswoman is okay. She continued with her town hall because she doesn’t let bullies win." "I’m ok. I’m a survivor so this small agitator isn’t going to intimidate me from doing my work," Omar wrote on X. "I don’t let bullies win. Grateful to my incredible constituents who rallied behind me. Minnesota strong." The suspect, Anthony James Kazmierczak, has been arrested for third-degree assault. Let's not mince words here. This attack is a direct result of Trump's dehumanizing rhetoric towards Omar, who he has called "garbage" in the past. Just hours before the assault, he smeared her at a political rally and claimed that she doesn't love America. "They have to show that they can love our country, they have to be proud. Not like Ilhan Omar," Trump said. In reality, Omar loves the United States far more than than Donald Trump ever will. He wraps himself in the flag while seeking to undermine and destroy everything that we hold sacred. His accusation that she is a "fraud" is textbook projection. He despises Omar because she is a woman of color, Muslim, and was born in Somalia and he is a stone cold misogynist, Islamophobe, and racist. Ilhan Omar is everything that Trump pretends to be: a true public servant, a patriot, and a strong leader who never backs down in the faces of bullies. Please ❤️ and share if you stand with Ilhan Omar!

I’m a Marine Corp veteran, trained by LEOs when I served in US embassies on how to handle unruly individuals or protestors. 1) If you are the guys with guns, you are the ones responsible for the situation. Doubly so if you outnumber the person you’re engaging. 2) You do not need to use force except to control the situation in order to deescalate it. Minimal force required. 3) You are NOT here to look for excuses to use more force. Even if the person gives you an excuse which “justifies” using force, that doesn’t mean using force is de facto the right move. 4) “Let the other person retreat” often resolves the situation just fine! Don’t surround people, back them up against a wall, etc. Your job is to control the situation. “I put myself stupidly in danger” is not an excuse to escalate “because I’m in danger.” 5) People will feed off of your energy. If you come rolling up like a fascist thug ready to break skulls, people will meet you at that level. If you show up calm, professional, and having a friendly chat, often that brings the temperature down. Everything I see from ICE agents is they are relishing violence and exercising power, needlessly escalating situations, looking for opportunities to shoot their weapons and beat the shit out of people.

This must be satire. Even a MAGA can’t be this stupid. Naval ranks are Ensign, Lieutenant (j.g.), Lieutenant, Lt. Commander, and Captain. His rank, captain, is equivalent to a full colonel in the Army or Maines, as everyone knows. What part of Africa or Asia are you posting from?

It is not a federal SWF. A sovereign wealth fund is structured, diversified, and insulated from politics. It invests across global markets to build long-term national wealth, governed by rules, transparency, and professional management. Its purpose is not to rescue individual firms, but to create stability and future prosperity. Risk is spread, oversight is built in, and the benefits flow broadly to the nation. What Trump is doing with Intel for example is the opposite. It’s an ad hoc bailout disguised as patriotism- concentrating taxpayer money into a single company, driven by political timing rather than economic prudence. There is no diversification, no insulation, no guarantee of return- only the risk of cronyism and loss. This is not nation-building. It is short-term politics with public money.
