I am writing this with a full heart. Having studied Law at @MakerereLaw and the Bar course at @LDC_Uganda, I wanted more beyond the confines of legal practice, I wanted to build the world I wished for. I was fortunate to be admitted into @NotreDame on scholarship.
Fast forward, over the weekend, I graduated with a Master of Science in Engineering, Science & Technology Entrepreneurship from the @NotreDame with a GPA of 3.84 out of 4.0. In addition, I completed two professional certifications at the @CFI_education: Financial Modeling & Valuation Analysis (FMVA), where I scored 100% in 3 exams and averaged 90% overall, and the Financial Planning & Wealth Management Professional (FPWMP)certification, where I scored 100% in 2 exams and averaged 94% overall.
In a special way I'd like to thank @Maria_Nakalanda, @Uwihanganye_A, and my parents for the support and guidance they gave me throughout the course of my studies. You believed in me on the days I found it hard to believe in myself, and that made all the difference.
To everyone who has been part of this journey in any way especially the @LeoAfricaInst network, thank you. I do not take any of it for granted.
And yeah! Will be graduating from @LDC_Uganda next month with a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal studies too

The first time I discovered you here on X as Ivan Busulwa, I checked the profile picture, and it wasn’t my dear friend that know by those names, I was awed.

So how can we hit the Ghana exchange sir? 😆
.@griffarinaitwe, run some numbers in preparing for this week's article, and turns out my guess right.
MTN Ghana leads on various benchmarks, though MTN Nigeria leads on Revenue and Subscribers which is understandable given Nigeria's demography.
Looking at the 9 months reports from Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda and Uganda, I can already guess what the answer to my question is.

I am doing some analysis on Uganda Telecom sector specifically Airtel and MTN.
I have had to read and compare @UCC_Official 's quarterly Market reports.
It seems like there's an inconsistency in UCC's reports vs the performance of MTN and Airtel as reported in their earnings and annual reports
For example; in one of the reports by UCC, it mentions industry revenue was down by 3% yet in that same quarter MTN and Airtel revenues grew by about 11%
Bear in mind MTN & Airtel control about 99% of the market.
Not only that, but figures in UCC's Market reports on internet traffic as well.
I was hoping to find some helpful information but I think it's better to stick to MTN and Airtel financials.

He was my classmate. Both names are common 😅😅 so it makes sense that they get joined here and there.
I thought I was the only Ivan Busulwa. I had never met any other in my entire life 😂😂😂😂
Today I've found another one. Turns out he's a lawyer too🙌🙌😂😂😂
Small world!!!
🎥 Ugandans don’t like too much English.
Ask the man who wrote three books in it. 😂
Magistrate Ivan Busulwa spends his days in court. Then he goes home and writes books, including Man in a Simple White Dusty Probox and The Carpenter From Kisoro.
In this #VoiceInPrintPodcast with @GodwinTOKO , he talks about:
1. How a magistrate became an author
2. The story-board concepts behind his three books
3. Whether Ugandans reads at all
4. How to write for people who want plain talk

My O'Level math D1 , won't let me value MTN at 4x SBU😃 . No one can even convince me to buy MTN at 300 UGX. Wake me up at 250 UGX! 📉 #UGX 🤣 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dr @ReachDrMuganga you're using so many words. The question is a simple one, "How many students were you approved to admit into the program?"
If at one point you felt VU had the capacity to accommodate more than 50 students, why didn't you go back to the Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda for approval to increase your uppet limit?
Even if you the facilities as you claim, that doesn't change the fact you did it in total disregard of the law.
These are questions of law and fact. The story you published in New Vision is actually the case you would have made to @PharmacistsUg

I am not going to judge you, because you do not really know what you are talking about.
Let me explain something. Being a great university is not just talk. It means real labs, real classes, and real hard work. Victoria University has done that work.
So here is my challenge: find me one university in this region with a Pharmacy lab as good and very well equipped as ours. Go and see it, take pictures, and show me. I will bet you money you cannot find one.
You want us to be an ordinary university so you can feel comfortable. That will never happen. If you are hoping for average, you should start looking for the door now, because this university is going in a different direction and we are not slowing down.
Go ahead and sleep if you want. But while you sleep, we are building. One day you will wake up and see the Harvard of East Africa, and you will remember you were warned.

Since you're in Week 4 of Corporate and Commercial Law, my advice is don't go into the IA without knowing when to advise the client to go for a Non-Deposit Taking MFI or a Money Lending Institution.
PAs love that question😂😂😂
Also whenever you see something that implies "Membership", the appropriate entity is likely a SACCO.
Also the Financial Institutions Act has so many Regulations, over 15 there under. Make sure you know have them.
Remember, though SACCOs have their own regulations under the Tier 4 Microfinance Institutions (SACCO) Regulations, beyond a certain level of Assets about UGX 1B, they are regulated by BOU
Lastly, consider the recent occurrings in the Economy, increasing CBR rate, rising forex rates make sure you're not caught unaware.
Have the Foreign Exchange Act (most students forget to carry it) Make sure you also have the Forex Bureau regulations.
Don't only rely on the law, read BOU circulars as well especially those issued recently.
Money Laudering is also a key component, ensure you have the Anti-money Laundering Act, it establishes the Financial Intelligence Authority Act that all Financial institutions report to.
Otherwise, this is one of the weeks you can excel in highly. Usually questions do not you to draft pleadings and most of the documents, forum and procedure that you need is within the Schedules to the Regulations of the respective statutes.
All the best, you got this🔥
I come to Report that we are in Week 4 of the last round of Race at LDC 😊…
we are happy with Banking😂😂😂 this week we are reading alotta cases and banking laws!
Ps: How did you pass this week during your time @all done with LDC
One-time while I was in high school on visitation day, my Dad said something to me (after a wanting academic performance) that has stuck with me to day.
It was about Talent, the statement stuck with me and basically shaped my entire life and the priorities I chose from that time when I was 15, to-date.
My hope is that any young person there on a path to self discovery finds this helpful and inspiring.
For this one, credit goes to my Dad.🤭🤭🤭

That's true for sure. Most are moving to Kenya as a way of curbing the Supply chain risk associated with having production in Asia among other factors.
Looking at Africa, Kenya has the infrastructure and the cheap labor so it has become a preferred go-to for most of the fashion brands
Replying to @realjohnivan
@realjohnivan most of them manufacture from Bangladesh and Haiti where labor costs are very cheap
