STATEMENT FROM JACK CAMPBELL
My family and I want to sincerely thank everyone for the overwhelming amount of love, prayers, and support we’ve received over the past few days. It means more to us than words can express.
I’m incredibly encouraged by the progress I’ve made in such a short period of time. I have full movement in my lower body, and I’m continuing to make progress with movement in my upper body. I know there’s still work ahead, but I remain very optimistic. I’m taking things one day at a time, staying positive, and focusing on getting better.
My faith in God has never been stronger. I know He has a plan for me, and I trust in that plan. I know there may be challenges ahead, but with my faith, my family, and so many people in my corner, I know we’ll get through this.
I especially want to thank the athletic trainers and medical personnel who responded and cared for me on the field. I know those were difficult moments, and I’m incredibly grateful for the professionalism, compassion, and care you showed me. The way you handled everything and looked after me when I needed it most is something I’ll never forget. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
I also can’t say enough about the incredible care I’ve received from the medical team at Henry Ford Hospital and the Detroit Lions medical staff. They’ve been amazing to me and my family throughout this process, and I’m truly grateful for everything they’ve done.
To my teammates, coaches, and everyone in the Lions organization, I want you to know how much I love and appreciate you. This team is a family to me, and the way everyone has been there for me means everything. I’m proud to be a Detroit Lion and couldn’t ask to be surrounded by a better group of people.
One thing I’ve learned about Detroit is that this city is built on toughness, resilience, and grit. That’s exactly how I’m going to approach this challenge.
Please continue to keep me and my family in your prayers. We feel the love, and I can’t thank everyone enough.
God is good. My faith is strong.

People love to talk crap on them, but Beto and Stacey Abrams are both why Democrats were successful in GA and TX last night. They organized& registered voters tirelessly & they didn't get to elected office like they should have. Both are team players& their work is appreciated!

Spending time with Teresa in Reno this summer, I saw a leader who could do something no Democrat has ever done: win this seat. Last night she did it. Congratulations, Teresa!

Mitchell Berman is an emergency room nurse and southeast Wisconsin’s next Congressman. I saw how deeply rooted in his community he is when we were out knocking doors this week. I’m grateful that we will have his voice, values, and vision in Congress.
Tonight proves that when working people stand together, we can make a difference. As the son of a roofer and a foundry worker, a first-generation college graduate, and ER nurse, I’m honored to stand before you as your next Congressman. I know what it’s like to work hard and wonder whether the people in Washington understand what families like us are going through. Now, families like ours will have someone in Congress who’s on our side.
I’m so thankful to every voter, volunteer, and supporter who made this historic win possible, and to my family for all their support over the past year. I also want to thank Congressman Steil for his years of service to this district.
As the next Congressman for Wisconsin’s First District, I will bring the people of Southeast Wisconsin with me to Washington and fight every day to lower costs, fix our broken healthcare system, and end corruption in Washington. I promise to always stand up for Wisconsin families – not billionaires and big corporations.
Now let’s get to work!

Women Soul of the Nation
My mother called on women to become the soul of the nation. I hear in her words a call to bring conscience to the decisions that govern people’s lives.
I celebrate Deb Haaland, New Mexico’s first Native American governor-elect; Keisha Lance Bottoms of Georgia, the first Black woman elected governor of a U.S. state; and Gina Hinojosa, Texas’ first Latina governor-elect.
I’m thinking of the people who have spent years asking their leaders to hear them. I pray they see their lives and concerns reflected in the decisions you make. That is how the doors you opened can change what is possible for others.

Anderson deserves a lot of credit for the operation she’s built in North Carolina not only to flip the Senate seat but to definitively beat back the egregious gerrymandering.

These right wing assholes spent YEARS trying to make me quit. They doxxed my family, made deepfakes of me, body shamed me, spread lies about me, and relentlessly ridiculed me. I was literally seventeen years old getting death threats from thousands of strangers because I dared to be a liberal teenager in Texas. They did everything they could to make me stop.
Well tough shit!
I was a nineteen-year-old community college student in Texas who raised $2 million for abortion funds when our state was threatening to put doctors in prison for life. I’ve raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for candidates, helped build the first statewide creator program in Texas history, and spent countless hours knocking doors, making calls, and organizing across this state. From Waco, to San Antonio, El Paso, Houston, Dallas, Fort Bend, and everything in between. Often times on my own dime or without pay because all I cared about was winning.
I’ve spent six years doing this. The candidates, elected officials, precinct chairs, and community leaders I’ve worked with haven’t just gotten to know me. They’ve literally watched me grow up. I’m so emotional because I’m realizing that I spent my early adulthood fighting for a Texas I wasn’t sure I’d ever get to see. I was fighting for the state while growing up and changing myself too. AND CHANGE HAS COME! I moved across the state this year to our beautiful capital and now I intend to be there to help Democrats spread the message to the public about the good things they’re about to do.
That’s all that matters. Doing good for the people of Texas.
So to all those fuckers who tried to make me feel like I didn’t belong or that it wasn’t worth it- get bent. Enjoy your cheaper healthcare and better schools - I worked for you to have them even though you worked against me.
Maddow: It is Black women who won every single one of those races in Georgia for the Democrats—governor, secretary of state, attorney general, agriculture commissioner, insurance commissioner, school superintendent, labor commissioner and public service commissioner.
