On one side you have the law, and 35 peaceful men wishing to walk in silence along a main arterial route.
On the other side, you have a lawbreaking terrorist supporting mob.
I know who I am proud to stand with.

I trust, as summarised by Belfast Live in their below graphic, this puts an end to this nonsense. This letter from a collection of unknown (outside their own twitter bubble) ‘personalities’ carries zero weight & rather than help, it will only harden the resolve not to be bullied by the mob.
It is notable these self proclaimed do-gooders have not a word to say about the lawbreaking mob, and nor do they call for compromise from those who cannot tolerate 35 mostly elderly men walking along a shared arterial route in silence. As ever, the true underlying ethos is this: unionism must give, nationalism must get.
Those days are gone; and they aren’t coming back.

27th of September was earliest @orangeorder could comply with Parades Commission ruling on engaging with local residents.
Sources say delay down to shortage of Romanian, Portuguese and Arabic translators after one lad who’d fled war in France was at his cousin’s cousin nuptials.
The Orange Order has announced plans for a new parade at Drumcree.

This didn’t do the numbers it should have at the time…

Plenty? True across the UK. Not here.
NILT 2025 says Catholic unionists 1%. Protestant nationalists 2%.
That isn't plenty it's a rounding error.
And anyway, only a border poll turns labels into a result.
Until then, identity shifts and nobody can really prove it either way.

Important to also say that there are bigger battles than the Drumcree parade.
The last five days have shown that the "New Ireland" movement is a sham and that Irish nationalism will break the law and act disgracefully when it wants.
That's the victory to take to the bank.
Drumcree, beneath the noise, is now a very simple issue.
Portadown District won, for the first time in 28 years, the legal right to walk their traditional route. Something no one ever believed possible; but, in truth, it was always not only possible but the correct legal outcome.
That legal right is being impeded by an unlawful mob.
It is for the State to determine whether the rule of law or the rule of the republican mob applies. Thus far, the State has wilted in front of the nationalist/republican mob, who continue to defy the Chief Constable.
They stand in defiance of the Judiciary (but then have the cheek to want to use the judiciary to seek reward for their illegality and defiance- good luck with that).
What is clear, for everyone to now see, is that the entire political process is built upon a nationalist supremacy which operates on the basis that ‘unionism must give, and nationalism must get’. So deeply engrained is that ethos, that nationalists no longer even realise just how supremacist and absurd it is.
There are some who say ‘you’ve won the legal right, don’t exercise it’, but once again that is unionism giving, and nationalism getting. If we continue in that cycle, of appeasement and ‘moral high ground surrender’, then what happens when we’ve nothing left to give? Which, in my view, was a point reached long ago.
If the Government and PSNI have lost control of Northern Ireland to the nationalist/republican mob, and in particular Sinn Fein openly defying the law, then come out and say that, and bear the political and societal cost.
Our community won’t be doing it for you. We won’t be giving up our legal rights.
A thirty year terrorist campaign couldn’t shift us, and all sides would do well to remember that.
The law is clear. It must be applied. Nothing less will do.

I care not a jot about Drumcree whether it goes ahead or not, but I will call out utterly irresponsible journalism when I see it, and this is it, beyond crazy ahistorical hyperbole.
"They all died because Orangemen wanted to walk."
Unreal.
"It seems the dead are easily forgotten. Men like Michael McGoldrick, Robert Hamill and Frank O’Reilly. Women like Rosemary Nelson. Children like Jason, Mark and Richard Quinn.
"They all died because Orangemen wanted to walk – in an act of triumphalist, sectarian supremacy – from Drumcree Church down the Catholic Garvaghy Road in Portadown. If the dead were truly remembered and honoured – if anybody in power cared about Michael McGoldrick, Robert Hamill, Frank O’Reilly, Rosemary Nelson and the Quinn children – there wouldn’t have been the scenes we saw this weekend. There would have been no attempt at another supremacist march through a neighbourhood which wants to be left alone.
"Nearly 30 years have passed since this dreadful, stupid and pointless march was last allowed to happen. Now we’re back to where we thought we’d never be again." 👇

I think indulging the hysteria over garvaghy road is as much a mistake as it was for sections of unionism to get behind Bryson

The paddystinians will not be happy
Just minuted ago, political leaders in America issued a letter calling for any attempt to force an Orange march down throughthe Garvaghy Road to be stopped.
This follows a letter signed by MEPs from right across Europe earlier in the week.
Support for the Garvaghy community is growing across Ireland and internationally.

PSNI Chief Constable Jon Boutcher has said police will not force members of the Orange Order through a hostile crowd to facilitate the Garvaghy Road parade, telling the Policing Board the force is not back in 1997.
He warned that those who blocked the lawful parade face criminal justice consequences, particularly anyone who incited or organised the protest, and said a dedicated inquiry team has been established.
