hey folks! here's what the wind tunnel road looks like now. it will be beautified and will become unrecognisable soon. but the sad news is it will be covered in garbage again. this is what we call a blackspot.
so i want your help with the real problem: to keep it clean. i need 5 volunteers to send video/pictures after 7pm (after 10pm if possible) and before 7:30am over the next 7 days.
we're trying to find a framework that works for spots like these so DM me.
if it works here, it can scale to the rest of the city. i know someone who has cleaned and maintained 150 spots like this in less than 70 days. so it can be done. it is possible.
GBA and BSWML clean it and it comes back. not because the ward AGM didn't do their job or the marshal didn't patrol. it goes deeper than that. it's a systemic problem. over the last 3 days, i have spoken to a bunch of stakeholders from every level. and i see a lot of hope. real hope.
the limited time i get from running anomaly, i want to use it to give hope than just garner likes and laurels from posts about one time fixes. many other much powerful folks than me have been trying to give us all hope lately, i want to do it too. it’s like a game now. a win here is this stretch is still clean a month from now. a los is it's piled with garbage again.

For the past several years I have been arguing in favour of rigid pavements made of either brushed form-finish cement concrete laid in situ or use dressed granite 40 mm, as granite prices have fallen quite a bit.
Somehow BBMP and now GBA has been reluctant to move towards those designs and has been preferring interlocking cement blocks laid on sand bed. These interlocking cement blocks collapse and become uneven after one or two rains, and we see contractors replacing the cement blocks once every few years.
Urban designers, architects need to debate this. A sample image is below @nnarasimhan @krishnabgowda @rk_misra

I really hope I don’t have to do this frequently. But, if officers and contractors do not listen and do their job, unfortunately, I will be forced. I appeal to them to do their job properly.
Today, I happened to observe an asphalt work in progress. I was doubtful of the quality. I asked the Commissioner to inspect this asphalt work. Indeed, the work was found to be substandard. Sadly, officer is suspended and contractor penalised.

🚨Bengaluru's infra gridlock: Delayed projects pile up as new plans add to traffic woes
Recently, real estate major Prestige Group completed a 1.5-km flyover connecting its campus near Bellandur Lake to Outer Ring Road using its own funds in about a year.
The project stands in sharp contrast to the pace at which public infrastructure works are executed in Bengaluru.
Take the case of the long-delayed 2.4-km Ejipura flyover (Kendriya Sadan-Ejipura corridor), often dubbed Bengaluru's 'Stonehenge'. First proposed in 2014 and contract awarded in 2017, project has been plagued by repeated delays and is now expected to be completed only by October 2026-nearly a decade after work began.
A Moneycontrol review found that more than 30 major infrastructure projects being executed by various government agencies have suffered significant delays, leading to cost overruns and adding to traffic congestion in India's tech and startup capital.
Even as several old projects remain unfinished, government agencies continue to announce new ones, extending Bengaluru's seemingly endless cycle of construction activity and traffic disruptions

More bad news for mobile phone users in India (after SIM binding): Our government is mandating a government app (sanchar saathi) on every new phone, permanently, Reuters reports.
Will be pushed to your phone via OTA. New smartphones need to have it. Users cannot delete it. This is a first. India has never before required an unremovable state app on every device. Russia does btw, with its MAX Messenger (started September 2025).
A few comments regarding this:
1. Sanchar Saathi is a lost phone tracker, but if it gets embedded with no possibility of removal, it becomes a government tracker on your device.
IF the government is allowed to get away with this, what’s next? A mandatory digital ID app? Digiyatra forcefully installed on each device? An app that disables VPNs or tracks your app and browser history? An app that sends copies of your messages to the government once a month?
Once the OS layer is opened to the state, it doesn’t close.
2. Legally, one can argue that your mobile phone is your personal space, and this is an invasion of your personal space.
It’s where we have our most private conversations. Exchange sensitive information with people we trust.
How do we know this app isn’t used to access files and messaging on our device, which is unencrypted on device? Or a future update won’t do that? This is clearly an invasion of our privacy.
3. Remember how the government exempt itself from much of the Data Protection Law. This explains why.
The Data Protection Law will make private companies more accountable and the Indian government less accountable.
4. Bloatware is already an issue with some phones (It’s why I don’t use Samsung). Now there’s more, and this time the government is forcing bloatware. I guess we’ll all have to root our phones now. When you buy a phone with bloatware, you're choosing to buy it with bloatware. This is different.
5. The way things work with India’s Department of Telecom, there was no public consultation, the order wasn’t disclosed. Just forced. This is dictatorial in nature. If they get away with this, more will follow.

I had a 20 minute conversation on the phone with Mr Sivakumar today and felt so utterly helpless at the end of it. He broke down in tears many times. From placing his daughter’s body in the morgue to the response of the police, from cremation grounds to cops, he spoke of hostile red tape and open corruption. This for a man mourning the death of his 34 year old daughter. Blood boiling and heart breaking

I am deeply saddened by the loss of civilian lives in the recent Pakistani aerial strikes on Afghanistan. A tragedy that claimed the lives of women, children, and aspiring young cricketers who dreamed of representing their nation on the world stage.
It is absolutely immoral and barbaric to target civilian infrastructure. These unjust and unlawful actions represent a grave violation of human rights and must not go unnoticed.
In light of the precious innocent souls lost, I welcome the ACB’s decision of withdrawing from upcoming fixtures against Pakistan. I stand with our people at this difficult time, our national dignity must come before all else.

Vibgyor School Road, East Bengaluru.
Tarred on 26th September, and now, within just 15 days, the tar is peeling off!
Imagine the level of corruption!
Shame on the citizens of Bengaluru for tolerating such agencies, politicians, and officers!

Bad Road Claims One More Life in Bengaluru! 💔
A tragic accident took place in front of Deens Academy, Gunjur, where a school bus lost control — either due to brake failure or the driver pressing the accelerator instead of the brake. The bus hit a three-wheeler, and a biker caught in between died on the spot.
This stretch has been in horrible condition for over 2 years — full of potholes and dust.
How many more lives before authorities act?
