I dream of the day WordPress does not require themes, plugins, or any other addition. It is fueled by a highly tuned AI model that after installation to your web server, through a series of questions that feels like a conversation you'd have with a traditional web developer, will generate a beautiful, well organized, highly secure, fast, search optimized, and fully functional website to meet your needs. If you need an e-commerce site, it generates the appropriate code, need that e-commerce site to function a little differently than what others do, sure it will modify the code to accommodate that too. As your needs change or grow, you have access to this AI tool to build out new functionality or modify existing portions. Yes, I know this will completely change this industry, including putting a lot of people out of business. That is the way it has always been. The industrial revolution was just as disruptive but in the end proved to be necessary to get us where we are today. The only thing that would be necessary to keep this operational, is someone (a team) to fine tune and maintain the core product and keep the AI model up to date. Maybe the AI model doesn't require updates as it will continue to learn and improve itself over time as more people ask it for new things. Oh to dream...
