Iain Dowie @WestHam
First Spell (1991)
Dowie initially arrived at Upton Park from Luton Town in March 1991 for a fee of £480,000. He made an immediate impact, stepping into the side for the injured Trevor Morley and scoring 4 goals in 12 league appearances. His contributions helped guide the Hammers to automatic promotion back to the First Division. However, just months later in September 1991, he was sold to Southampton for £500,000.
Second Spell (1995–1998)
After successful stints at Southampton and Crystal Palace, manager Harry Redknapp brought Dowie back to West Ham in September 1995 for £500,000. His first six months back were the most prolific of his West Ham career, hitting a purple patch that included a memorable brace against Manchester City in March 1996.
As time went on, his role transitioned into more of a backup and impact substitute before he left to join Queens Park Rangers in 1998
