Dear Director Patel @FBIDirectorKash, In 2024 I sat in Alon Alexander’s mansion in Miami Beach with the brothers, their father, the rest of the family, and a disbarred attorney who went to federal prison for helping drug traffickers obstruct justice, and I was told it was gang initiation time. My target was Evan Torgan, the attorney representing the women who had come forward against Oren, Tal, and Alon Alexander. The family believed Torgan was being paid to orchestrate the women and extort them. I was asked what my connections were to the FBI and the Department of Justice. Oren told me they had already hired another private intelligence operative to gather information on the women. They could see an indictment coming. The disbarred attorney was Samuel Burstyn. He served 42 months for conspiracy to obstruct justice on behalf of a drug trafficking organization. That is when I stopped thinking of it as an intelligence job and started thinking about what could physically happen to Evan Torgan. I said no. I called Evan Torgan and warned him. Then I contacted the FBI, told your agents what I had seen, and handed over every electronic communication between me, the brothers, and the family. That is part of what I heard in that house. I am leaving out the rest on purpose, because I will not put anything in public that could hurt an investigation. Yesterday the brothers were sentenced to 30 years each. Judge Caproni called what they did monstrous. She was right. But that sentence closes only half of this case. The other half is in the Peacock documentary The Wolves of Real Estate: The Alexander Brothers, and I did not understand its full extent until I watched it. The film reports that a victim was told by an investigator that her children had been mentioned. Victim 4 dropped out. Director Patel, that is not crisis PR. That is not intelligence gathering. That is a woman who reported a rape being told that someone knows where her children are. I believe it was witness intimidation, and I believe it was criminal. I am asking you to open an investigation into the PR firms, the investigation agencies, and the individual investigators who were paid to target, discredit, and intimidate these women and their lawyer, and where the evidence supports it, to charge them. I am also asking you to widen the case. Oren told me about other billionaires. He told me about a victim being held in a dungeon in a billionaire’s house in the Hamptons. I cannot prove what he said. You can. The brothers did not operate alone, and I believe there are more victims who were silenced by exactly this machinery. The people who helped this family, protected it, and hunted its accusers should not get to watch the sentencing on the news and go back to work. These women did their part. They spoke, and they were hunted for it. The brothers who raped them got 30 years. The people who hunted them got paid. Fix that. Think about how these work requirements, salary limits, & high min wages interact to put poorer NYers in a bind. If a single adult wants Medicaid (barring circumstantial exemption), whatever job they get has to be: - Less than $22.94/hr - 20-26 hrs/week; no more, no less.
For single adults in NY, the max you can make & still get Medicaid is $1,835/month. Bc of that & the 80 hr/mo minimum work requirement: You cannot make any more than $22.94/hr & still get Medicaid. You cannot work any more than 105 hrs/month (26/week) & qualify (if min wage).

It's the rent, actually. @RebeccaJBurns_ on housing affordability in the midterms. The candidates who are the best on this issue are the ones who listen to tenants paying the highest rents they've ever paid for the worst conditions they've ever endured inthesetimes.com/article/its…

They accidentally killed him because they were trying to choke him unconscious, rape him on camera and blackmail him with the footage, by the way
Please help me honor US Army Green Beret Staff Sergeant Logan Melgar. On June 4, 2017, the 34-year-old engineer sergeant was killed in Mali during a hazing incident by fellow special operators who broke into his room, restrained him, and applied a chokehold that led to his death by asphyxiation. From Lubbock, Texas, he served with the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) after enlisting in 2012, completed Special Forces training, and deploying twice to Afghanistan. Survived by his wife Michelle and their two sons, Melgar was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery, leaving a legacy of service and a case that exposed serious issues of accountability within elite military units. Never forgotten.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Death ruled homicide by asphyxiation. Two SEALs and two Raiders charged with felony murder for chokehold in planned hazing to film sexual assault. Convicted of manslaughter/hazing; sentences 6mo-18mo after reductions. Theft cover-up motive alleged, denied. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of… news.usni.org/2021/01/24/sea…

Police punch Hispanic man already pinned to ground—22 times. Officer had already shot him with taser. "He stiffly hit the ground after being tased, and his head banged on asphalt," said witness. "Cop mounts him and starts beating—later 3 more piled on." Just because man was standing in the road blocking some traffic. Witnesses say he looked like he was having a mental episode—and was not trying to harm anyone. Emergency crews were called and took the man to the hospital. Local police confirmed the incident occurred at 3:15 pm—but released no other details except to say it was "under review." Incident occurred on Auburn Way near 37th Street NE in Auburn, Washington.

so much information was withheld from the public. She had contacts in the FBI well before she became a "labor hero". The real heroes were the Filipino laborers who got screwed over by her and Chavez.

He reminds me of my nephew so much. He was also such a good father. You don’t have to be a good father to deserve to not be murdered by anyone let alone by someone related to police.
On October 20, ConEd mechanic Koran Irvine was fatally shot by retired NYPD detective Victor Romero, who claimed the 46-year-old father was swerving into his lane, prompting him to discharge his weapon at Irvine's rear window amid moving traffic on George Washington Bridge - the world's busiest motor vehicle bridge. Romero drove home and returned to work the next day, where NYPD detectives asked him to voluntarily come in for questioning. One week following the tragic incident, a grand jury indicted Romero on second-degree murder charges - an upgrade from a manslaughter charge he previously received. He was granted bail and remains free. Status Coup's @jonfarina documents a rally by Irvine's family and friends in Lower Manhattan following Romero's indictment. Video by @blue_lanes

No one can afford to take their pets to the vet because it's all been taken over by private equity. It's insane. We used to have great vets and they were expensive for people at my income level but still just a fraction of what it costs now.
Birthday 🧵 I turn 62 today. I live in tiny RV with 2 dogs, 12 and 6, who I can’t afford to take to the vet. I’m unemployable in part because I’m listed on Canary Mission. I spent every penny had running a farm the produce from which I gave to food banks.

and that doesn’t even begin to address the added complications that having children will contribute to the situation since removing children from their schools mid-year to become homeless is usually a traumatizing event children find difficult to recover from

Every year, thousands of DC residents lose their homes over unpaid rent. Most owe less than $5,000. Going to court is stressful for tenants, expensive for landlords, and slows down the system. We need a better way to resolve rent issues. 🧵⬇️

I can’t stop thinking about this blonde girl from Texas telling this reporter she is pro carpet-bombing Gaza and Lebanon and Syria “because they’re ours”. But if I call it for what it is (insane Nazi behavior), I’m an anti-Semite?
