This is a distinct possibility - Farage likes to build himself a narrative as a man under attack, if/when Standards suspends him he could well cite "danger to my safety" & step away rather than risk losing his seat.
I hope the Crypto moguls want their money back if he does.

All part of his exit strategy. He is going to resign for "security" reasons before Reform blow up in the next election, giving him a "non mea culpa" for his next scam.

The DUP stops short of collapsing the Assembly, blocking engagements and events attended by the DFM/FM
Who loses? We the people.
How much longer must we endure this?
A gentle reminder that the DUP are not the largest political party in NI, and they do not speak for everyone!

If Jon is uncomfortable with people voting for Sinn Fein imagine his discomfort if he thought their party leader had not received ONE SINGLE VOTE!!!!!
There are no mirrors in the house of unionism!!!!

Last week Suzanne Breen hinted at the lack of proper scrutiny over DUP ministers meeting the representatives of loyalist paramilitaries. Yesterday Claire Hanna called out the nonsense of attempting to link the Garvaghy Road protest to the PIRA.
When will the penny finally drop?
Seriously folks, who on earth would want to read a book by Laura Kuenssberg!?!

By the age of six, she was responsible for sixty goats and sheep, walking miles every single day just to find water and grass. Her name meant "flower of the desert," but her early years were far from gentle.
Waris Dirie was born into a traditional nomadic family in the harsh Somalian desert in 1965. Survival was a daily struggle, but the most dangerous threat to her life did not come from the severe heat or the lack of food.
It came from a brutal ancient practice passed down through generations.
When she was just five years old, an elderly woman took her into the remote landscape with a rusted, dirty blade.
There was no anesthesia, no hygiene, and no mercy. Her mother held her down while her aunt pinned her legs to the dirt.
She was subjected to female genital mutilation—a cruel procedure that stole her childhood, caused the tragic deaths of her sister and two cousins, and left Waris with lifelong physical pain.
By the time she turned thirteen, her father arranged her marriage to a sixty-year-old man in exchange for five camels.
Refusing to accept this fate, her mother secretly helped her flee into the night. Barefoot, terrified, and completely alone, Waris ran across miles of desert terrain until she made it to Mogadishu.
Eventually, an uncle appointed as an ambassador took her to London to work as an unpaid domestic servant.
For years, Waris lived in absolute isolation in England. She could not speak English, nor could she read or write.
When her uncle's diplomatic post ended, she refused to return to Somalia, choosing instead to live illegally in London.
She took a job scrubbing tables at a local fast-food restaurant while attending evening classes to learn how to read for the very first time.
One afternoon in 1987, world-famous fashion photographer Terence Donovan walked into the restaurant where she was working. He immediately recognized her striking presence, grace, and strength.
"Have you ever thought about becoming a model?" he asked her.
"I don't even know what a model is," Waris replied, looking at him with deep suspicion.
That chance meeting changed everything. Almost overnight, Waris rocketed to global stardom.
She appeared in the prestigious Pirelli calendar alongside Naomi Campbell, walked high-fashion runways in Paris and New York, and starred in campaigns for brands like Chanel, L’Oréal, and Revlon. She even made an appearance as a Bond Girl.
To the world, she was living an extraordinary fairytale. But underneath the glamorous designer clothes and bright spotlight, she was still carrying severe physical trauma and unbearable memories.
In 1997, at the absolute peak of her career, a reporter from Marie Claire sat down with her to write a feel-good story about her journey from poverty to wealth. Waris decided it was time to end the silence.
"You have written enough stories about models," Waris told the interviewer directly. "If you promise to print what I actually say, I will tell you something real."
She revealed the painful truth about what happened to her as a child and exposed the reality that millions of young girls were still suffering from every single year.
The shocking interview sparked global outrage and brought female genital mutilation into international focus for the first time.
Shortly after, UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan appointed her as a Special Ambassador. At age thirty-two, Waris walked away from her lucrative modeling career to launch a global fight against the practice.
She wrote her international bestseller, Desert Flower, established foundations, and built medical centers to provide surgery and psychological support to survivors.
Because she had the courage to speak out, laws were rewritten across multiple nations, traditional leaders abandoned the practice, and millions of young girls were protected from the blade.
Waris Dirie proved that a child from the desert could overcome unimaginable trauma, break centuries of silence, and inspire profound global change.
Today, millions of young girls walk freely under the sun, whole and protected, because one brave woman dared to speak her truth.
Her journey is a beautiful reminder that love, courage, and resilience can bloom in even the harshest sands, turning every scar into a beacon of hope—just like a true desert flower.
You read this thread @soaraway99? What a complete shambles. But no surprise. Only a matter of time before we've an oil tanker disaster somewhere in the Atlantic - there were fears we might be heading for one during last weekend's storms off the north west coast of Donegal ... 😱

What's the story on "unionist unity" on health, GP appointments, education, housing, jobs, cost of living etc etc......
or is it only "Drumcree" that matters ??

In 1985 the UK PM was adored by Unionists. Maggie would show them!
Then she signed the Anglo Irish Agreement.
About 100,000 people protested at Belfast City Hall, from every part of society.
Those days are gone. Unionists have lost support at every level.
But the politicians don’t seem to have noticed.
They pander to the tiny minority.
Every time.

I grew up in Lagan Valley and I've had a front row seat to the DUP my whole life. Over the last decade, political unionism led by them made a number of grave miscalculations. At the heart of this is the fact that they claim to care about Northern Ireland, yet have taken many decisions that have damaged it. They want things their own way. Not the way that makes NI prosperous or cohesive, not with all communities in mind, no- it's about what they want. In doing so, they have actually consistently harmed the union. And they hate me pointing it out. But I think people deserve to know. 1/
Long thread from Sorcha Eastwood reminding us the damage DUP has done to NI over the last decade, & their complete disregard for the people here, from whatever community. Well worth a read, if only to remind oneself how irresponsible & self-serving they've been from 2016 onwards.

South Belfast MP @ClaireHanna challenges Nolan on his daily obsession with Drumcree. Very well said - listen at 35 minutes and following. The BBC and Nolan need called out publicly more often.

Just looking at this again : Burke needs quite immediate clinical & mental health intervention re: his radicalisation. I would worry about those children and families at the school he pretends is still his place of employment: despite being fired. He's a genuine danger to public!
The state of this. DUP obstruct MoN from attending & then blame MoN. Do they think we're stupid!?!

One of the most foolish thing I heard from a Brexiteer Tory neighbour day after EU Ref was his delighted comment Brexit would drive Poles back home, in front of my Eastern European born wife! Yes many did go back home much to Poland's gain & to UK's loss & are now dearly missed! – at Dunakiliti, Magyarország
History has been made in the heart of London's financial district as Bronek Masojada becomes the first person of Polish descent to be elected Lord Mayor of the City of London.
From his Polish family heritage to the leadership of one of Britain's most prestigious civic institutions, his remarkable journey reflects the enduring contribution of Poles to British life.
Congratulations!
