That's the percentage of adults who report withholding medically relevant information from clinicians.
The difficult question does not disappear when a patient stays silent.
The experience simply failed to feel safe enough for the honest version.

Gakpo drives me crazy with his obvious preference to his right. Easy to defend. So many opportunities lost.

Odd fact:
Research on soccer consistently links stronger effective peripheral vision in soccer to faster decision-making and elite passing. However, the same system that tracks changes on the pitch can make a two-day stubble a visual distraction.

I'm not a believer in govt's ability to efficiently deliver goods and services.
The exception is NJ Motor Vehicle Dept. The butt of endless jokes in the past, they are a model of efficiency today. License renewal was easy, took 3m, and cost $25. @NjMotor84411 👏👏👏
Should rare earths be a free-market industry or a geo-strategic necessity backed by the government?
Markets price for cost. China prices for control. This extends to multiple industries.
A sobering analysis and proposal:

Almost one in three participants avoided—or were likely to avoid—medical information.
Information overload, stigma, self-efficacy and trust were among the strongest predictors.

If your school’s behaviour management policy requires you to
a) Be a child psychologist
b) Stop everything to focus constantly on one child out of thirty
c) Be telepathically intuitive and magically persuasive
d) Accept rude or unsafe behaviour
e) Stop and think hard about the exact, complex next step…
Then it’s not a behaviour policy, but a misbehaviour policy, because it creates an environment where misbehaviour is more likely. It’s also a quit-switch for staff who are human beings, not sorcerers.

A patient sent me a message the other day that perfectly captures what’s wrong with our approach to health.
He walked into work to find a large World Mental Health Day display.
Green ribbons. Mental health awareness signs. And about 50 boxes of donuts being handed out to employees.
The irony.
We’re raising awareness about mental health while handing out sugar-loaded, ultra-processed food to a workforce where many are likely struggling with obesity, insulin resistance, diabetes, and possibly anxiety or depression.
The brain is a metabolic organ.
Insulin resistance, chronic inflammation, and poor metabolic health are closely connected to mental health.
Yet we continue to treat mental and metabolic health as though they’re completely separate.
I’m all for raising awareness about mental health. And no, one donut isn’t the cause of poor mental health.
But how about we start raising awareness about the metabolic health of the brain, too?
Mental health matters. Metabolic health matters. They’re connected.

That's how long it will be before Roshan visits his family again. He just got back from Nepal where he met his newly born son for the first time. His last visit was 10 months ago.

After QR access with a privacy guarantee went live, our diabetes and ADHD libraries each increased sessions by more than 20% over their own pre-provision baseline.
Our read: the more stigma around a condition, the more privacy may affect engagement.
Three libraries don't provide empirical evidence. They give us a pattern worth watching.
Patient education isn't only a content problem. Sometimes it's an access problem.
Since when is addition and multiplication "math?"
Arithmetic is number operations including place value value and fractions. Mathematics is about structure, patterns, and proofs. "I'm bad at math" now means someone struggles with long division or fractions rather than logic.
