Have been pretty impressed with Ben Rhodes’s evolution. His statement here nails what Dems need to do on foreign policy like right now
.@brhodes: The Democratic Party has to be the anti-war party. The Democratic Party has to be the party that's going to stop spending $1 trillion in defense. And stop bombing other people's children and start investing in our children.

Yup. And a lot of people on here were saying @ZohranKMamdan’s win number wasn’t big enough or some nonsense.
The man gave Dems the two most effective messages for the midterms - affordability +city not for sale!
@ZohranKMamdani also pioneered a new way to govern by going directly to the people and telling them regularly what he was up to. And he did it all with a smile.
Hard to make him a scary caricature when millions of Americans are waking up to him every day on their feeds!
And then they realized they *could* have nice things! And they elected younger and more dynamic leaders who were also digital natives.
Mamdani getting elected and spending a year on extremely popular projects helped Dems everywhere imo.
He was supposed to be on the new Mount Rushmore of scary liberals. Saw him on lots of attack mailers. Didn't scare people at all.
When I sat down w Mamdani during the 2025 primary he said his model was Bernie in Burlington - the "ooh, scary socialist" mayor who capitalizes on all the attention he gets and makes civic improvements so it stops being scary. And so far that's clearly worked. semafor.com/article/06/12/20…
