new - A few of Haley Stevens' staff reached out to her earlier this week encouraging her not to endorse Mike Rogers, according to a source who worked on her race She replied: “Omg why would you think I would do that?!!”

weird person, weird video, weird shit going on behind the scenes. Should never be affiliated with Dem politics again.
I am endorsing Mike Rogers for the United States Senate today.

The two stories of the NBA are 1) the entire league has old man bodies by 22 that are breaking down 2) the 3 most iconic players from the 2000s are all somehow immortal

Wrote about this back in September. Our X feeds switched over to nonstop posts about WW3 starting because there are now a whole bunch of Verified accounts that make money by psychologically tormenting day traders and crypto bros with poorly aggregated newswires.
what, genuinely, do ppl think is happening with this? feels like a combo of real and justified cybersecurity fears and iran escalations. but also a real algorithmic tweak that feels suspicious this close to the election (and a lot of rando accounts that could be run by any engagement farmer or nation state)

Patrick Stewart’s villainous turn in GREEN ROOM has stayed with me longer than I ever anticipated. His casual delivery of “I need a true believer” has echoed in my mind for a decade.

If baseball teams cooperated instead of competing, they could work together to score a virtually unlimited number of runs. And isn't that the point? To score runs?

the contradictions are part of the text
This! @christianbrits pans the "unethical travesty" that is Nathan Fielder's You Can See Everything. "There's no getting around the fact that Nathan Fielder made a crooked bargain to get his documentary made," he writes. I agree. I'm surprised, and a bit disappointed, that more people aren't denouncing the filmmakers' tactics. Fielder made a documentary about someone who conned people out of money they were owed—and then goes and does something... kind of similar. reason.com/2026/10/26/nathan…

Think the demand for payment actually worked in the filmmakers' favor. Fielder turns the situation into an “I’m not locked in here with you. You’re locked in here with me” deal. Exploits Billy's complete misunderstanding of leverage to get exactly where he wants to go.
the thing about the "should Evans and Holmes have gotten paid?" issue is that, in fact, the studio and filmmakers agreed to pay them! real question is, why were they so uncomfortable with that arrangement (i think the answer is in the scene where Billy shuts down an interview)

Recognizing that a new film probes similar questions to older films is also not a sufficient critique. These questions are eternal, and there's plenty to explore in YCSE. These coworkers should talk! newyorker.com/magazine/2026/…
why do people think this is hard to understand? it's not sufficient as a defense for a film to point out its obvious theme. which dimension of this very old and often explored question did the actual filmmaking, choice of subject, etc, help illuminate or deepen for you?

This question has long been settled and the movie correctly doesn’t take much interest in it. There’s no honest reading of this movie or it’s marketing or any interviews that could lead you to believe it was about that.
That first sentence... Fielder promised no such thing.

the search and rescue industrial complex is about to be revolutionized
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks. By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time. Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.
