Maybe with a little humility he doesn't push any other candidate out of the race who could split Chow's vote, and he builds a more coherent and authentic coalition that could have won. Who knows? 🤷

Trying to engage honestly with the question "what more could Brad have done?" and best I can come up with:
He wanted it too much. Too impatient. Never let anyone *ask* for him to be mayor, just assumed the mayor-in-waiting role immediately after Chow's election.
I don’t know what more @BradMBradford could have done. He ran an excellent campaign. He offered Toronto a clear alternative. I feel for him.
This is a fantastic point abt Brad’s poor campaign & it’s amusing to notice it abt a white man, when this normally hits women/BIPOC candidates. I agree that it was a big part that he was pushing too hard to “seem like” the one on deck, but no one but his ego felt that way
An incredible tribute to the singular Diane Keaton. I love her as much as you, but could never have put it into the words you did. Don’t agree w/all your choices, but the commentary on her work is brilliant. She’s wonderful in Shoot the Moon, an especially underrated perf of hers
Absolutely gobsmacked that 3 of my @TheContending articles/videos are finalists for the National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards. My thanks to @LAPressClub and to @ClarenceMoye @heydudemeg @JoeyMoser83 Here’s a link to one of the finalists. thecontending.com/diane-keat…

SC this is simply a turnout game at this point. TV doesn’t matter now. This race will be won or lost in these streets, at these doors and on the phones.
How badly do you want this?!!! So get off the damn couch and let’s do it! Let’s vote! @scdp

need a 1br for $2400 or (preferably) less that allows cats. @oldbutterscotch will be there too!
Pretty bad time for the DSA to loudly rescind their endorsement (not that they’d be solely to blame or anything like that)
If Bass ends up winning after maybe one of the most politically disastrous terms in modern history, the progressive movement in LA will take a major step backwards.
If you havent voted yet or havent signed up to volunteer, now would be the time to do it: nithyaforthecity.com/
Julia Roberts, the queen, at 59
Best performance: Closer
Worst performance: I Love Trouble
Most underrated performance: Wonder
Every day those people wander around telling us they don’t understand how politics work bc they’re so busy telling us how it should work. And not trying to change how it works, just being mad about it
Replying to @xXBlackAceXx
Forcing the local chapter to unendorse the week before the election while leaving incumbent-friendly council members alone *is* functionally supporting Bass!
@reggcohn acknowledges that Bradford’s change isn’t what voters wanted, but can’t credit Olivia Chow with being that (even though her 13-point victory suggests she is) nor voters w/enough smarts to see that her change is moving forward so we gave her more time to finish (2/)
