Hey @DOGE, can we make sure there’s a single form I can use to make this change globally? You know, Paperwork Reduction Act and all.

Biden should go all out on climate for the next 75 days.
Declare a climate emergency. Get all the IRA money out the door. Permit new transmission lines. Stop new LNG exports. Ban drilling on public lands.
Make a mountain of progress for Trump to try and undo.
Reflects the dual nature of Twitter beast. Apparent primary views: Tech - just a Musk engineering & entrepreneurial endeavor; Media: it’s social experimentation & “figuring it out” = negative impacts. Must get both right. Not sure Musk grasps criticality of human factors.

Lot of recently jobless people with engineering, finance, management and communication skills could not only do good but do *well* in booming climate/sustainability/ruggedization enterprises and efforts.
Helping folks make that pivot seems like a pretty great thing to do.

Maybe it's just semantics, but I don't think you can draw a clear distinction between "understanding" and "intelligence". If you understand a task or a thing, then you possess intelligence with regard to that particular bit of the universe. It's the same concept.

I am so so sorry to hear that the brilliant Herman Daly - founding father of ecological economics - has died. His paradigm-changing work flipped my little econ head inside out & inspired me to write a book on rewriting economics… Here are just some of his big ideas 1/n.

Anybody else experiencing macOS apps not remembering their previously used window size since the switch from OSX? Really annoying to have to resize the window every. single. time. I. launch. the. app.

Hey @AppleTVPlus, really looking forward to the @MLS package next season. But it would be far better if you hired all the incredible local broadcasting crews for team specific calls of each game. Same video, pick your team’s audio feed. 💯🏆🎙️
Great job by @nate_bukaty @JacobPeterson37 and @AlyTrostMartin on the #SportingKC broadcasts these last couple years.
I'll miss hearing them all and wish them the best in their future endeavors!
Really impressive example of why ruggedization (see @AlexSteffen) is now necessary - although this particular community is at risk from further sea level rise.

While ecstatic about the potential climate benefits of the IRA, I worry it incents economic activities that too often subsequently hit red tape implementation bottlenecks. ⬇️ Interest in significantly & responsibly lowering these barriers should be, theoretically, bipartisan.
The US has 42 MW of offshore wind production that is operational, 932 MW under construction, and 18,581(!) MW tied up in permitting.

See below for more permitting delay evidence. Speed is *critical* in climate mitigation now. IRA makes impactful investments, IF they reach implementation and deployment. Solar panels staged in warehouses = lost time & increased climate damage.
There's 1.3TW of solar, wind, batteries in US interconnection queues. That's >5x more than all deployed RE in the US (tho not all would get built in any case). Wait time in queues is steadily rising, now averaging ~4 years. We need permitting reform badly. emp.lbl.gov/queues
