"Fox agrees to carry non-Fox content on Roku for at least three years" With the deal closed, seems there is a clock now to get rid of all my Roku devices.
Fox agreed to some conditions to get the DOJ to sign off on its $22B Roku deal: Fox agrees to carry non-Fox content on Roku for at least three years, and it will not discriminate against non-Fox content in search results. Users will be able to set their homescreens, so no forced apps. Fox "will continue to provide data products to third parties on commercially reasonable terms consistent with Rokuโ€™s standard distribution agreement." Fox also agreed to "maintain existing contractual firewall commitments to content partners for competitively sensitive non-Fox content data, including aggregated and non-aggregated data that can be inferred from, or collected through, commercial activities of non-Fox content providers or their uses on Roku products, including click, search, view, and voice data for a period of at least 3 years."

I really like the sound of this. I really disliked how docker sandbox made it impossible to even try it with their mandatory phone home prereq. This seems like a promising alternative. And it is by CJ himself! Love his Syntax videos!

You know, this might be the weirdest example of survivorship bias. I suspect it is more likely now that people who resemble Obama even slightly will be upscaled to Obama. ๐Ÿ˜

Can confirm. I do the same for my blog.
Added analytics to my app. Before: nobody was using it. Now: I can watch nobody use it in real time. Huge upgrade.

Was about to recommend Herdr to a bunch of my colleagues but it seems the project has gone weird. The new app needs independent config, all tui plugins are incompatible. Given all this difference, does tui even have a future?

Today Toronto (province Ontario) moved clocks. Winnipeg (neighboring province Manitoba) didnโ€™t, for the first time. Starting today, Toronto and Winnipeg have the same clock time for the first time during winter. Manitoba now has a fixed timezone called Manitoba standard time.

What is wild is that parts of Ontario province itself (west of 90 W) will now stop moving clocks like the rest of the province and will match clocks with Manitoba. I will never stop hating DST.

I must say, years of treating infra as cattle, and looking down upon infra as pets, has made it particularly uncomfortable with setting up self modifiable systems like Hermes and openclaw for my homelab

In hindsight I made the mistake of bringing professional practices into an alpha, personal software. Still makes me hesitant to setup and use software that way though

To use software that way in professional contexts needs probably bespoke setups today. Donโ€™t know if any off the shelf agent does that
