Are we asking oncology professionals to become more resilient, when we should also be asking how to make our systems less exhausting? Resilience isn’t just about individual coping. It’s also about the environments we work in, the support we receive, and how we sustain meaning and motivation throughout our careers. At #ESMO26, on behalf of ESMOs Resilience Taskforce we’re bringing together different perspectives on this important conversation: 🔹 Launching the ESMO Resilience Resource Hub 🔹 Understanding imposter syndrome, cognitive distortions & professional identity 🔹 Moving beyond self-care towards practical, trainable coping skills 🔹 Exploring how we can design systems that strengthen resilience across the oncology profession I’m delighted to co-chair this special session with @BanerjeeSusana and share my perspective on moving from individual coping to systemic change. 💬 Come ready to share your experiences, challenge assumptions and help shape the conversation! 📅 Sunday 25 October | 10:15–11:15 📍 Toledo Auditorium, NCC, Madrid ⚠️ In-person only — NOT livestreamed or recorded. We’d love to see you there! @ESMO #ESMORTF #ESMO26 @DrJonLim @DrVilmaPBarcia @ErulEnes

📢 Just published 💃 in @JCOGO_ASCO: the @APODDC Working Group’s recommendations on using real-world evidence (RWE) to advance oncology drug development across Asia-Pacific. Why this matters for APAC: 🌏 Pivotal trials often don’t reflect our patients. #Ethnicity, #tumourbiology, #comorbidities, #access and treatment patterns vary hugely across the region. 📋 Only 🇨🇳 China, 🇯🇵 Japan and 🇹🇼 Taiwan currently have formal RWE regulatory guidance. ⏳ In many #APAC systems, reimbursement lags regulatory approval by years. That window is an opportunity for local #RWD to show whether trial benefits hold up in our own health systems. 💊 RWE can support #label_extensions, #external_controls for #rare and #biomarker_defined cancers, #postmarketing safety and HTA, as a complement to RCTs. Key recommendations: ✅ Harmonised data standards and quality assurance ✅ Risk-proportionate governance, with federated analyses where data can’t cross borders ✅ Sustainable funding for registries and the people who run them ✅ A tiered infrastructure model so resource-limited centres can start small ✅ Transparent public–private partnerships and capacity building A truly international effort 🌐 with the entire @apoddc team including co-authors @pankajpanda86 @DrBenTran @ToshioShim1025 #PJVoon @fredtingmd #TakafumiKoyama #DaphneDay #KArnoldChan @wonglaihung and @danieltanmd Open access 👇 doi.org/10.1200/GO-26-00217 #RWE #RealWorldEvidence #DrugDevelopment #AsiaPacific #Oncology @APCLC_2023 @CUHKMedicine #globaloncology

ADC drug development is accelerating. But is biomarker science keeping pace? Nearly 50% of ADC trials require no biomarker, while most that do still rely on conventional IHC. In our new @NatRevClinOncol review published just in time pre-#ESMO26, we propose a modular framework to bridge this gap - moving beyond target expression to the multiple biological determinants of ADC efficacy and toxicity. Proud to lead this international effort with @BarbaraPistill2 @nedmcnamee @rreddel @VivekSubbiah and colleagues. 🔗: nature.com/articles/s41571-0…

Good academic–industry collaboration isn’t “I have an idea; please fund it.” It starts with a clinically meaningful question ➡️ brings the right methodological team in early ➡️ understands what each partner needs ➡️ establishes feasibility/resources/governance before commitment Success ultimately depends on communication and trust. @ACORDISM @MartinStockler @oncodocsydney @herbloong @do_phd @batraatulonc
Great breakfast plenary with round table panellist including phase I triallists, biostatistician, clinicians, pharmaceutical company representative. Definitely lots to consider and weigh up before IITs and heaps of pearls of wisdom imparted from the discussions.#ACORD2026

It's my great pleasure to be back at #ACORD26as a faculty member to help the attendees in Asia develop clinical trials in the coming weeks. Excited to see everyone soon.
#ACORD26 is less than a month away! 72 attendees + 36 faculty from across the Asia-Pacific and beyond, coming together to learn how to turn great ideas into executable, fundable oncology research. Beyond writing excellent protocols, we will be covering scientific pitching, industry-academia partnerships to building multidisciplinary teams This is the part of research we don’t teach enough. @ACORDISM @MartinStockler @oncodocsydney

1/ My first paper in PGY2 residency landed in JAMA Oncology, and the truth is it was won before I ran a single analysis. It came down to how I chose the question. 8 Years later, I realized that very few trainees got taught about how to pick a first research idea. Lets try a bit
