🇨🇦 LEST WE FORGET
📅 October 28, 1944
THE BRESKENS POCKET — THROUGH MUD, WATER AND WAR
In the autumn of 1944, Canadian soldiers were fighting their way through Belgium and the Netherlands, liberating communities after years of German occupation.
But along the southern shore of the Scheldt estuary, the advance was anything but easy.
During Operation Switchback, the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division faced determined German resistance in the Breskens Pocket, a low-lying region of the Netherlands crisscrossed by canals, dykes and flooded farmland.
The Germans had deliberately flooded parts of the countryside, forcing Canadian troops and vehicles onto narrow, exposed routes.
On October 28, 1944, this remarkable photograph captured Universal Carriers of the Canadian Scottish Regiment struggling through mud and water beside a battered farmhouse.
It is a striking reminder of the conditions these men endured. Every muddy road, every flooded field and every village brought new dangers.
The fighting continued until November 3, when the Breskens Pocket was finally cleared.
Their sacrifices helped open the vital sea approaches to Antwerp and contributed to the eventual liberation of the Netherlands.
We remember the Canadians who fought, suffered and fell in the Battle of the Scheldt.

DOJ TOLD A FEDERAL JUDGE THERE WAS NO PLAN TO CLOSE TRUMP'S GOLF COURSE. NOW DOJ CONFIRMS THE EXACT CLOSURE DATE.
October 19: Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward told the court there was no plan to close East Potomac Golf Course on November 15.
October 28: DOJ confirmed the course WILL close November 15, citing Trump's directive.
Meanwhile, a federal judge had already preliminarily found that the redevelopment decision was final before October 15.
Hundreds of trees had been removed.
No finding establishes that DOJ knowingly misled the court.
THE QUESTION ISN'T WHETHER TRUMP HAD A PLAN.
IT'S WHY HIS JUSTICE DEPARTMENT TOLD THE JUDGE THERE WASN'T ONE.

You go to a Trump rally and hear about Trump, Trump's enemies, and Trump's grievances. You go to an Obama rally and hear about democracy, healthcare, and the future of the country. The contrast is something else.

I don’t know a single American saying:
“I can’t afford groceries. I can’t pay my rent. I can barely afford gas. But THANK GOD Trump is getting his ballroom!”
Nobody voted for a ballroom. They voted for a better life.

FLORIDA PAID NEARLY $82 MILLION. NOT ONE PRESCRIPTION DRUG WAS IMPORTED.
But News 6 uncovered something more.
Florida's contract with LifeScience Logistics said failure to secure qualifying Canadian drug-supply agreements would result in dissolution.
The state continued paying and extending the deal anyway.
Five years. $81,946,746.74 paid. Zero drugs imported.
The FDA authorized the program in 2024, but manufacturers still did not supply the drugs.
Asked whether this was government waste, Gov. DeSantis said, “No.”
FLORIDA'S CONTRACT ADDRESSED FAILURE.
WHO DECIDED TO KEEP PAYING DESPITE IT?

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Republicans commit voter fraud, then say it's proof there is fraud in a self-fulfilling prophecy.
BREAKING: MAGA provocateurs James O’Keefe and Cam Higby have been hit with FELONY charges in Minnesota!
They allegedly impersonated REAL voters, dressed up as Muslims and tried to manufacture an election fraud scandal.
The irony is absolutely staggering.
These are the same people who have spent years screaming about election fraud, and now THEY are the ones facing felony election-related charges.
You cannot make this stuff up.
Hold them accountable!

This is exactly what you would expect a rapist to say.
