This is what it would look like if you could see Covid. Please share this far & wide. Hopefully, some doctors will see it. Such basic concepts but people have trouble grasping how their actions spread a deadly disease. #WearAMask #COVIDisAirborne

I can’t wait until people get so angry about everyone dying in their 30s and 40s that they start masking and demanding the truth from doctors and the government, instead of being fake sad every time the inevitable happens. It’s so fucking performative at this point.

BREAKING: House Judiciary Democrats just released a 50-page report alleging Trump was an “active participant” in Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse of young women in the mid-to-late 1990s. The report, titled “The Case Against Donald Trump Emerging in the Epstein Files and DOJ’s Desperate Efforts to Cover It Up,” cites five women who accused Trump of rape or sexual assault in Epstein’s company and calls for an independent special counsel to investigate the president, co-conspirators, and what Democrats describe as the Justice Department’s cover-up under AG Todd Blanche.

Anyone who says "after covid" is delusional. Downright medieval thinking.
After COVID, people's social skills have drastically declined. Many have less patience for each other, and simple interactions can feel awkward. Everyone seems more comfortable staying home and avoiding people.

Yeah I turned off comments because no idiot can tell me masking doesn’t save lives and that covid isn’t carcinogenic and negatively affects every organ in the body. Your fucking non science based bullshit and bullying wont change my mind. Go touch some grass.

I really, really dislike the “still masking” framing. It annoys me to no end. I’m not “still wearing a seatbelt”, so why would I be “still masking”? Maskers are generally way *ahead* of the curve, because we discovered what should be viewed as a lifelong mitigation fairly early in the paradigm shift from droplet theory -> airborne. Which is the complete antithesis of “still”, a qualifier that implies masking is a mitigation with a potential end in sight. There isn’t a potential end, at least as far as it being the more scientific and moral choice to use respirators in shared public spaces. It’s the correct science, and it will always be the correct science until the day that we die, and it will continue being the correct science well beyond that point. Unfortunately, I know that there are a lot of people in the COVID conscious community who are still waiting on a miracle prophylactic drug to be able to remove their masks. I don’t think it’s the majority, but I do know there’s a significant amount. To be clear, if their wish ever does come true, those people, many of whom I fear are the ones using the “still masking” framing, will be indistinguishable from everyone else using past-tense “during COVID” in 2026.

68% of my students absent today. Covid rates in my area “very high.” There is also a surge of early flu cases, according to county public health! Multiple students emailed me to let me know they are sick, or their dependents are sick so they are staying home to care for them. 😬

All of it is so preventable, but our government chose to ignore scientists and defund their research programs. I just read another baby under six weeks has died of measles in Pennslyvania.

The multiple H5N1 cases reported in American children with no identifiable source was also extremely bad. But that was 1-2 years ago now.

Ten months after the first H5N1 case was reported in an American child, with no identifiable source, another American child acquired H5N1 with no identifiable source. No one seems to care. We are so deeply f**ked.

The govt will never take action unless we are willing to eat beans for 60 days. A very deadly pandemic is less disruptive to them than our agriculture industry taking a temporary hit. You'll also notice the agriculture industry was willing to take that very hit to hurt people.

xitter.cf/xrayleak/status/183579… Horrible conflicts from the start. This is my post from 2024.
USDA Secretary Vilsack, a former $1M dairy lobbyist, has pivoted from “containment” to a vaccine strategy at the request of lobbyists late in the game after allowing the farm lobby to hide the data for months. Meanwhile the Surgeon General who has the power to compel action has no involvement. This is backwards. The vaccine is the long term solution and should have been started immediatly. Data sharing is the way to quickly contain the outbreak.

You nailed it @KatherineEban. And it wasn’t only @USDA @USDA_APHIS that drug their feet in the Biden Admin. @HHSGov agencies were slow to take action, share data, & test milk products or exposed workers. The entire response was slow, bare minimum, lacked transparency; hugely missed opportunity to build trust & sharpen pandemic readiness. It’s no wonder the virus continues to circulate, mutate, & infect a broader circle of mammals across the U.S. Modern pandemic readiness should be prioritized & funded urgently.

Here’s that 🧵 since I can already tell my post isn’t going to be seen by very many people. Making threads is an excellent way to get shadowbanned! We no longer have the ability to communicate large bodies of public health information on this app for that reason.

“Data uploaded on Tuesday revealed the mice tested positive for H5N1 on May 8–almost a month ago. Authorities have also not released any genetic sequence data.” Hi, why does it seem like the government isn’t particularly interested in mitigating this threat? h/t @CoronaHeadsUp telegraph.co.uk/global-healt…

I’ve been tirelessly posting about H5N1 since the first case was reported in an American human in 2022, in an incarcerated individual forced to cull infected flocks. I watched as the UK reported asymptomatic human cases then shut down the program testing for them. I’ve watched as six Missouri healthcare workers develop H5N1 symptoms after contact with an H5N1 patient. I’ve watched as American CHILDREN tested positive with no known source. I’ve made huge threads about all the mammals & marine mammals H5N1 has blown through as governments & the public ignored it. When it found its way into mice & rats in 2024, experts said the situation was “out of control.” That was almost 3 years ago. The U.S. reported 70 human cases & 1 death by January 2025, & then nothing until now. It will consume us, & our wounds are self-inflicted. I’m sorry.
There is something really concerning (and disappointing) going on in the US right now. A dangerous and preventable situation. Let me explain. nextstrain.org/avian-flu/h5n… 1/
