Over / under on the new MacBook Pro having a vapour chamber? Thermals are my #1 priority for a redesigned 14” laptop. M5 Max runs way too hot for the form factor. Hoping a new thermal design will allow M6 Max to really shine.
One thing that’s gotten lost in the noise of the iPhone Duo is the immense downgrade FaceID has taken on the 18 Pro. The under-display sensor fails far more often than on the 17 Pro. Enshittification knows no bounds.
A more detailed iPhone Duo review: it is, bar none, the worst iPhone I’ve ever used. The exterior screen dimensions make no sense for any kind of regular use.
By design? Likely, as it pushes you to use the interior screen. But it’s gimmick after gimmick. Multitasking looks nice but is functionally deeply limited.
Button placement is particularly awful when closed. Trying to take screenshots or power down is a nightmare. It’s too heavy. It’s slippery. Just a baffling product front to back. Makes the 18 Pro Max feel like an ergonomic miracle by comparison.
Brief iPhone Duo review: 24 hours was enough to convince me to get an 18 Pro Max.
