Congratulations @Lane_Sharpe2 of @WIHS_BASEBALL23 on Your Commitment to @SCCbaseball25 Sharpe has been starting to cook on the bump with his FB creeping into the mid 8s from a funky delivery that can give batters fits. Sharpe came out looking much bigger this season and is bringing a linebacker physique to the Knights baseball program next Fall! That's two very talented arms to commit in Coach @HendersonCaleb2's Senior Class! Warriors are going to have a chance to climb the standings this Spring with their Senior leadership in the bullpen @CoachCheek55 @DaryllJohnson6 @rickdearmas28 @CarloOrengo24 @nextlevelbbnc @SurryKnights

I stopped by the @nextlevelbbnc Scout Day to grab some footage and metrics this past Sunday. 2028 C @D_Felix2028 of @ACALionBaseball took advantage of that as he had himself a day. Pop Times were between 1.95-2.06. Swung the bat well too, up to 89 on the EV. Threw 3 runners out during the simulated scrimmage. Kids just a gamer, catching attention already @rickdearmas28

2027 RHP/Util @Lane_Sharpe2 of @WIHS_BASEBALL23 showed well at the @nextlevelbbnc Scout Day on Sunday improving a few metrics in the short time since I saw him at the 8/16 Prospect Filming Looking at the @PSBaseballScout numbers, he improved his 60 yd time to 7.11 and bumped his top EVs up to 92 MPH. Hand speed is present. He was up to 80 MPH on the bump when we saw him in August with lots of IVB and funk to the delivery. Interesting 6'2" 190 lbs athlete. Good student, 4.0 GPA, looking for JUCOs or 4 years with Vocational options @rickdearmas28 @HendersonCaleb2

2027 @Lane_Sharpe2 of @WIHS_BASEBALL23 also worked out in the MIF and OF on 8/16. Still shows solid hand speed in the swing. Firing his hips better and using more of the field as he's clearing the hips better than a year ago. Still works against his frontside some though, keeping swing path a bit short through the ball. Top EVs were up to 90 MPH 7.33 60 yd, shows enough bounce and athleticism to move around the field. Keeps his feet moving, steady head/eyes, quick transfers. Getting his first feel for the OF, but de-cleats, keeps the head still, arm plays well. Routes will improve with reps. @HendersonCaleb2 @rickdearmas28 @nextlevelbbnc

2027 RHP @Lane_Sharpe2 of @WIHS_BASEBALL23 is looking much more physical this year as he's grown into his athletic 6'1" 190 lbs frame. He's thrown a lot of important innings for West Iredell Varsity the past couple seasons and hopes to lead the Warriors to a stronger finish this Spring. His FB is now up to 80 MPH featuring spins up to 2120. His arm speed has noticeably increased over the past season. I love his funky arm action and delivery mechanics as it creates an element of deception. Sharpe releases the ball from a 6.4 ft tall, 0.6 ft wide slot on average. The 12:45 tilt creates some wild IVB averages (19.6 IVB / 9.1 HB). Those metrics all come delivered from a short, fast arm circle that Sharpe keeps tall and behind his head before quickly delivering the pitch. He only features extension averaging 5.3 ft, which I think helps in creating some of his deception in the delivery. However, long term, I would want him to maximize his stride and work as efficiently as possible through the delivery downhill while not altering his natural throwing motion. Likes to throw the CH, but needs to work on grips to create better action. Would like to see him focus on secondary improvements that play best with his arm actions. Really encouraged by his physicality and the potential to build around his FB metrics. Great student. 4.0 GPA. 6th tool guy; high character. Has an interest in the Vocations but is open to JUCO and 4 year options. @HendersonCaleb2 @nextlevelbbnc @rickdearmas28

Those Unorthodox moves come into play with discussing 2027 @Lane_Sharpe2 of @WIHS_BASEBALL23 on the Bump. I encourage him to keep embracing the "Hideo Nomo" in his Balance Point. Turning his back to the batter while staying balanced can be a deceptive weapon. FB was 74-77, 78; whippy. Takes spin of the CH, w/ HB. If he keeps the ball down, he'll be effective. As the Velo rises, the overall deception will become more effective

2027 MIF/RHP @Lane_Sharpe2 of @WIHS_BASEBALL23 has some unorthodox movements in his game, yet he's physical and producing for Coach Henderson and the Warriors At the plate, he stays connected in a way that allows him to pepper the middle and backside of the field. He buries his eyes and finds the barrel. Generates some pop with hips, gets on plane, but narrow stride may cut him off to inside pitches. EVs were mid to high 8s in BP Ran a 7.33; physical frame 6'1" 175, Needs to get arm strength up in order to stay on the left side; quick transfer w/ short arm action; needs to get more length out of the arm Great Student, 4.3 GPA, undecided in Degree Path. Plays in the Summers for @nextlevelbbnc and @rickdearmas28

@Lane_Sharpe2 of @WIHS_BASEBALL23 is a good example of the 2027 Prospects we're hoping to see at our 8/16 Prospect Filming at @ForestCityOwls: athletes that are showing college baseball desire & starting to flash above average tools We're fans of @HendersonCaleb2's WIHS program and excited to build more relationships with the WNC Foothills programs. We're also excited to see Lane on 8/16 Lane also plays with Coach @rickdearmas28 for @nextlevelbbnc in the Summer; reminder that all NLB NC players receive $50 the 8/16 Prospect Filming
