Twenty-five years ago, we suffered unimaginable losses as a nation, a City, and a Department. The world changed.
The FDNY lost 343 of our own that day, and in the decades since, we have continued to lose even more to World Trade Center-related illnesses. Their names, their stories, and their courage are woven into the fabric of the Department and serve as the foundation of the modern FDNY.
We renew the promise we made a quarter of a century ago—one we will keep for generations to come: We will Never Forget.
