IMPORTANT: Stations will not be closed until all those in the queue have cast their votes. If you already in the queue you will be helped so don’t go. #eNCA #IEC #ElectionDay

“I am not going to vote today as the queues are too long.”
The queues at the homeless shelters are also too long. The queues at the soup kitchens are too long. The queues at government hospitals are too long. The queues for kids trying to get into schools are too long. The waiting times for traffic lights to be fixed are too long. The waiting times for potholes to be fixed are too long. Corruption has gone on too long. The country has waited too long.
Stand in the queue!
Make your mark, it's the best we can do.

I’m hoping and hoping and hoping that the people of South Africa vote for change in that beautiful country over the next week.
It should be the GREATEST country on the planet. 🇿🇦
It has EVERYTHING for it to be the best.
It’s reached rock bottom and this week is so important.

Gutted to hear the news about Derek Watts. It was a thrill & an honour to have a few days working alongside him in Antarctica last year. He was humble, funny, approachable & committed to excellence. His team clearly adored him. Wishing strength and comfort to all who loved him

🇿🇦 Test cricket fans, enjoy every bit of this Test, because you won't see this team play again for 9 months
9 months, life is created in 9 months and that's how long they'll have to wait to play again
The monopoly of Test cricket by the Big 3 must end

Just watched @AnnikaLarsen1's interview with Eskom CEO Andre De Ruyter on @etv and I am in awe. It's the most important interview you could watch as a South African today.
Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter did this interview with me at great personal cost - soon after his poisoning. He is brutally frank and his testimony is astonishing. R1 billion “lost” to the utility every month. Watch on @etv on Tuesday at 10 pm . #MyGuestTonightWithAnnikaLarsen

Gap in your resume?
Be prepared to talk about it.
Regardless the reason, a hiring manager will most likely ask about... so don't get caught off guard.
Simon Whyte retweeted
Hiring manager: We loved this candidate, but we'd like to see one or two more to compare
By the time you source & interview those 1 or 2 more, chances are your first candidate will be off the market.
If you like someone, just make the decision.

If you give notice and your employer counters with more money or flex work options, tell them to offer it to your replacement so they feel valued enough to stay.

So now we just accept this as norm, do we? A daily juggle between severe and moderate power cuts. And still no hint of the PLAN.

Someone said the best analogy for Eskom is having a car that you drive for 400 000 without servicing and then you blame the last mechanic to work on it. IMHO, there is no magic wand here for our aging plants. Let’s wait & see if anyone can do a better job

Just a reminder that verbal job offers aren’t binding.
Do NOT: 1) Give notice 2) Stop interviewing with other companies 3) Let a company check references at your current employer
Protect your paycheck: 1) Get the offer letter 2) Clear the background check 3) Give notice
