The #SJSharks need to take a long look in the mirror after today's game. It sounds like that's what will happen. This is MY OPINION. Criticism for tough play should be and is fair, but remember, these people are human—my thoughts on @SharksHKYDigest.⤵️ sharkshockeydigest.com/san-j…

what really sucks about the sharks rn is you see how hard guys were working over the off season, mack was training like a madman and got players to come back weeks early to train together and it feels like it’s all just going out the window 😕

i agree celebrini hasn’t been himself but i don’t think it’s fair to point the finger at him. between the new captaincy, a coach whose lost his locker room, and his recent injury (that prob hasnt fully healed imo) this is where the rest of the team should be stepping up (the A’s)

this only further reinforces that the team and coaches need to learn how to function as a unit away from depending solely on his production. and they’re blatantly failing at it. careers are long and shit happens, they need to adapt or they’re just delaying the inevitable.

also i’d like to add: celebrini is generational and we simply hold him to a higher standard than most, especially after his last season. its normal for him to go through slumps and/or have slow starts like anyone else. so give him some grace, he’s far from the main issue.

i’m so confused how there’s such a disconnect between the coach and the players. mack was playing loud music before the game bc the team agrees they need to loosen up and have fun while warso is saying “the best tool a coach has is to take someone out or take away ice time” ???

“it’s unfortunate because we saw glimpses of good plays by will smith” not to sound like idek, but was orlov not right there for the play i’m assuming they’re discussing? like yeah wsh should have backchecked but that was not 100% on him so please hold the vets accountable too!!

imo this is how you wear down star players. celebrini’s current state isn’t a fluke. you continuously default to one guy and throw him out, you quickly realize he isn’t god nor is he invincible. teams learned how to contain him and he looks alone on the ice in lots of plays.

idk how many times history needs to repeat itself for the staff to understand one star wont produce the entire team’s outcome. he has the ppl to be properly surrounded & they aren’t being developed successfully to the level that has to be attained. coaches need to adapt.

idk what more needs to give for someone internally to point out that things aren’t going the way they’re supposed to and change needs to happen. now is when a team like the sharks should be solidifying to become playoff contenders again. not falling apart at the seams.

3 thoughts - i think there needs to be a serious conversation regarding what system the coaches want to implement vs what system the players are built for. - its unusual and concerning to see so many young talents not evolve and instead regress at the start of a season.

- in the current state the team is in, negative reinforcement and continuous pushback with random post media lashes that read as immature tantrums isn’t helping anyone. a good coach would surely see that his team’s facing a serious struggle and begin with questioning himself.

Warso cannot make it through many more games. Hes completely lost the room and has no game plan
Sharks just falling apart at the seams here

Martin St. Louis has shown in Montreal that you trust your young guys and lbuild a system around them playing their game. You don't try to impose a system which primarily focuses on changing their game.

é um milagre que eles tenham virado amigos, e um milagre ainda maior que o mack AINDA não tenha tentado matar o will

Negative reinforcement is why your players keep quiet quitting on you but you got it boss 👍
#SJSharks Warsofsky asked about team buy in being an issue still: “Yeah. We got to work on that.” He added this about sending a message: “Yeah, I think there is. I mean, look, you know, sometimes the best tool coach has is to take someone out, take away ice time. So we'll look at everything.”

quote of the year: “Obviously, didn't work. Would we go back to it? Possibly.”
#SJSharks Head coach Ryan Warsofsky addresses splitting up Celebrini and Smith: "We're acting like I'm the only coach who changes the lines. When things aren't working, you've got to change things up, and that's what we did. And we have two really good players. We can separate them and make matchups a little bit more difficult. We tried to get it going. Obviously, didn't work. Would we go back to it? Possibly. It's not just about two players. It's about our team playing the right way. And if things aren't working, my job as the coach is to mix things up and get them working again. That's all I have to say about it."

Seriously. Very tough ask of a 21 year old still developing his game to drive a line on his own when the team doesn’t even have a real 2C yet.

One of the worst takes I hear is people complaining about Smith away from Celebrini. Caulfield, Gauthier, Robertson, Connor, Keller, all play with play-driving centers and they are successful. Also people need to stop pocket-watching Smith. 2nd best player rn on team w/5 goals
