GAME SET MATCH ALCARAZ 🔥 Our Vienna campaign gets up and running with a straight sets win over Karen Khachanov. Karen can be a tricky opponent indoors, so I am glad we got through this one after having had three match points he initially let go of at 5-4. With 41% won on second serve I would say we have a target to work on! Next round, we’ll take on either Rodionov or Basilashvili for a spot in the QFs.

If you had to evaluate a tennis player on 8 things… are there any you would change from this list?

GAME SET MATCH OSAKA 🔥 Naomi Osaka gets the better of Jasmine Paolini in straight sets in front of the home crowd. Naomi didn’t look super convincing tonight with this very scrappy win. Osaka only had 50% first serves in, less than 50% second serves won, and up until the very end of the second set had more unforced errors than winners. Naomi will need to work on that serve especially before the next round. In hindsight, Paolini should be ashamed for not taking it the distance at least (missed 3 set points). Next up, Osaka will take on Mia Pohankova.
