Seeing quite a few people who were previously rejected for SBI cards due to overleveraging getting instantly rejected for the new Eternal SBI Card (Zomato), while a few others are getting approved too. It's a hit and miss. ๐
But here's the catch. Once rejected, you may have to wait 3 months before applying for another SBI card, potentially ruling yourself out of the upcoming Air India SBI Card during that window.
IMO, if you're specifically waiting for the Air India card, it makes more sense to wait and try your luck with that rather than risk a rejection now.
Of course, everyone can follow their own strategy. There's no right or wrong here.
But both are co branded SBI cards, so if the underlying issue is the same, why not wait for the Air India card you're actually interested in? ๐
The email directs customers to the Easy Access Savings Account charges chart, which mentions a maximum penalty of โน600.
However, when you select the Burgundy Savings Account from the dropdown, the charges listed are NIL.
So which one actually applies to Burgundy customers? Typical ๐ชs

HSBC's inconsistency continues. ๐
Booked flights via Hopper using HSBC TravelOne this month, but once again, they haven't credited the full 18k bonus points as per 6x offer. I've escalated the issue again.
โ ๏ธ If you're maxing out the 6x flight booking, check whether the full 18K points have been credited.
If not:

This needs to be raised until HSBC fixes it permanently. ๐

Last month I had maxed out the 6x accelerated rewards on HSBC TravelOne for flight bookings.
Later, while reconciling my statement, I noticed almost 6k points were missing.
Reached out to HSBC support and after verification, the missing points were credited.
A small reminder for everyone:
Whenever you maximize accelerated reward categories on any credit card, always reconcile the points earned against what you were expecting.
Banks can have inconsistencies too, and if you don't check, you may never notice missing rewards.

The biggest attraction for me is the Accor & Qatar transfer partners, especially after Axis removed both. They're also with HSBC, but I can't really rely on HSBC given how they operate. ๐
It's a decent 2% base reward card, with:
๐ฏ 5,000 miles on โน1.5L quarterly spends
โ๏ธ 5% via Kotak Unbox on flights, hotels and vouchers
๐ Gift cards and gold aren't excluded as of now
๐จ 1 mile = โน1 on flights and hotels
๐ 2:1 for transfer partners
Went with the RuPay variant since there are no miles on forex spends, so Visa or Mastercard didn't make much sense. RuPay also gets some occasional offers.
There's also a glitch currently allowing you to apply for the card as LTF:

Apply for LTF at your own risk though. The bank can roll this back anytime.
You get 2,500 miles on renewal against the โน3K fee, which is almost full value back if transferred to Accor.
Spend โน4L in the first year and the next year's fee is waived anyway.

My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.
Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker โ preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.
He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.
I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.
He is a true hero.
