I think the guy flipping burgers at McDonald’s should be able to afford rent, bills, and groceries with his paycheck alone. That’s kind of the whole point of having a job and I can’t believe this is considered a radical position for me to take.

one of the biggest things reading does for you is teach you how much you lack, how dumb you are. the worst people online don’t read and so they are constantly convinced they are at the highest echelon of thought

Alice was the best new character to come out of this whole show

my biggest hot take is that we need way less special editions and way more mass market paperbacks
I miss when you maybe only got a special edition of a book if it was out for 10+ years. Now it’s sprayed edges straight off the bat or bonus content and covers that are different depending on where you bought the book. The consumerism with publishing these days is tiring

Nobody is above criticism. But if you fundamentally hate a woman author, most of her characters, the universe she created, the actors AND the show, well damn maybe the healthiest literary analysis is simply closing the book and leaving the fandom. You are not trapped here.

For many years, it was widely assumed that science and tech could explain everything. But as it turns out, there are issues where you don’t need a guy with a degree in computer science. You need philosophers and theologians and artists and students of literature.

adhd genuinely means i just don't eat even when i want to and i don't work on my studies that i am passionate of i can't wake up i can't even try to die i just freeze up i procrastinate reading books i love and games i want to play and just dissociate staring into the wall
everyone without ADHD treats it like it’s a nothingburger quirky easy to live with fake disorder and acts like it’s a minor inconvenience at best. everyone with ADHD would probably gouge both their eyes out with a spoon if it meant getting rid of this shit forever

Mostly a bummer bc there hasn’t been enough Sondheim of late. Not a single kid at the Jimmy Awards sang something he wrote! What’s the point of theater if wide eyed 16-year-olds can’t play bitter 70-year-olds
Jonathan Bailey has also exited ‘Sunday In The Park With George’ following Ariana Grande’s departure from the West End revival: “Ari is one of my dearest friends, and my support for her is unwavering. Marianne is extraordinary and one of my longest collaborators and friends. After much consideration, I have decided to also step back from Sunday in the Park with George. I wish the very best to the entire company with what will no doubt be an incredible production, and I will be cheering them on as they continue this journey.” (deadline.com/2026/09/jonatha…)
