Five years out, when billions of coding agents exist, software development will be largely solved. The traditional moat of “we have better engineers” disappears. Products will be copied, improved, and open-sourced almost instantly. Defensibility will shift away from code itself, toward distribution, data, brand, and community.

Most of the anxiety you feel is just the moment asking you to come back to it. Presence fixes what perfection never will.

Note to myself Most "bad startup ideas" actually work. The problem isn't the idea It's that you stopped at version 1

The trucking industry was not going to fix itself. All the craziness had to make headlines. Now, the pressure is on. It's better than it was, but it ain't as good as it's gonna be.

It's insane how loving you can be when you feel in control of your life. Believe in who you are and where you're going, the light just switches on. Interpersonal relationships quickly become a breeze You don't care about keeping score anymore. You're not as weird about needing space or validation. It's no longer someone's fault because you no longer see yourself as a victim. Easy to fill the cups of others when your own is overflowing

Feedback from other people is fake. Awards are fake. Critics are fake. Real feedback comes from free markets and nature. Did your rocket launch? Did your drone fly? It’s impossible to fool Mother Nature.

Rule of thumb: If you want to build a great network, avoid networking events. The best networking never looks like networking.

The more information becomes available, the more obvious it becomes that humans aren't truth-seeking by nature. They are tribe-seeking, facts be damned.

Fun way to shift from low agency to high agency: Time travel. Here's how the time machine works: 1. When faced with a difficult moment, ignore it for 10 minutes. Don't react. 2. Instead, just time travel back in time. Get a note pad and pen. Find a similar memory of a difficult moment. If it's a breakup, find past breakups. If it's a fire at work, find past fires at work. 3. Write down the date of the difficult moment at the top of the page -- e.g. George in break up 2017. Or George in work fire 2021. 4. With the detachment you have on that situation, write down this: If I could go back in time and turn this into the worst thing that ever happened to me, what are 5 actions I would take? If I could go back in time and turn this into the best thing that ever happened to me, what are 5 actions I would take? 5. Now go to the top of the page. Scribble out the date. Replace with today's date. Assume the advice is from your future self who has just time-travelled to see you, and can see the present event with detachment. You now have a list of actions to avoid one timeline. And a list of actions to do to create another timeline. You've just created a Schrödinger's cat moment for this difficult moment -- but you know what to do to kill the cat or keep it alive in advance. Now go and have fun in the multiverse. Let this timeline be one that the parallel versions of yourself are furious they didn't fork their way into!

The game is simple: find what’s true but not obvious in your market. Then go all in before the crowd gets there. That’s asymmetric information. That’s how you win big. It was true of Mobile, Crypto, AI and whatever Space comes next.
