BREAKING: The Promise to America initiative, led by Reps. Tom Suozzi and Adam Gray, have now reached over 1,000 signatures including over 50 state and local elected officials. They are ensuring Democrats win the White House in 2028. This is the future of the Democratic Party.
The Promise to America is more than just a federal effort. State representatives and senators, school board officials and city councilors, and any interested citizen should sign the Promise–and a whole lot already have.
We are winning back trust for the party every day!

On Wednesday, it was great to gather Promise to America's signers to hear from Democratic Leadership Council Founder and Promise to America signer Al From! Al helped remind us of what we can do when we put in the work to earn back voters' trust: win elections and build solid Democratic majorities that actually deliver.
The Promise to America is where that works starts, and we're grateful to have @alfromDLC on board to inspire us all.
The Promise to America is doing exactly this. We have thousands of signers, and we're only growing! @thepromise2026
A “big tent” is great, but we must be courageous about booting those trying to tear it all down. Not puritan policy; just some principle to weed out hooligans.
@thepromise2026 only receives brief mention, but we are doing exactly that—pitching a big tent yet staking boundaries.
The Democratic Socialists of America are using century-old Trotskyist tactics to infiltrate and subvert the Democratic Party. It’s time to throw them out.

Keep the momentum! Promise Democrats can be the future of the party—sign on today.

The activists need to decide if they’d rather just have Republicans win these purple seat elections or would they rather have a Dem who agrees with them 95% of the time, but won’t die on politically toxic hills. The options are full civil rights for trans people, but take the L on the sports debate. OR zero rights for trans people and lose everything.
You have to sometimes make some sacrifices for these purple seat elections. Activists don’t think this strategically, unfortunately.
Signal Ohio: Top Ohio Democrats retreat on trans issues, leaving some transgender activists feeling abandoned
Rep. Marcy Kaptur voted for a GOP-backed measure requiring parental notification on gender identity in schools.
Governor candidate Amy Acton said she opposes “boys playing in girls’ sports.” Both moves have drawn criticism from LGBTQ+ advocates within their own party.

Maybe, just maybe, Democrats can be democratic ahead of these primaries. That is, meet Americans where they’re at, not in the fantasy world many seem to live in. Because winning is simple but requires the truth.

The Democratic nominee, if there is a new one, has to be someone who is independent minded from Platner, otherwise they will be viewed by voters as a protege. Any connections to Platner will doom that person's campaign from the very beginning. – at Bangor, ME

Crazy thing is that Obama already delivered the blueprint for winning over the white working class. He made legitimate ideological and policy concessions to the white working class, and he was rewarded by receiving a significant share of their votes.
Progressives simply don't want to make any concessions whatsoever, so they have decided to compensate by running people with working class aesthetics while maintaining far-left policies. This does not work, because people are not stupid and also being extremely crass, slovenly, and unprofessional are offensive caricatures of the working class.
Even before the most recent scandal, Platner was well under water with working class Maine voters and his entire base was white college grads.
If you’re “Republican” but believe in good government and that spending on programs, infrastructure, r&d can make our society better, but progressives who want to destroy our institutions drive you crazy, you’re just a moderate democrat. Despite what they say, it’s a real thing.
The bane of the DSA is context. Free college while being the beneficiaries of elite private educations (Mamdani Bowdoin, Chevalier Columbia for ex), ACAB until you’re berated on the street (@war24182236 recent vid), Free Palestine but won’t commit to protecting Taiwan (AOC)…1/3
2/3 I’m cherry picking, which is the point. To be DSA is to ignore constant contradictions; unable to comprehend politicians who won’t run on an extremely specific, unworkable platform. They can’t fathom unique contexts alongside unity in principles. The dogmatism is blinding.
