Beautiful people. Rene is who I'm a little more familiar with and when I was just a kid in 2021, he volunteered to call and talk about football! Generous to a fault ❤️
SV-Derby in the clash of the Bundesliga champions and 2nd Bundesliga champions. We're very proud of @AdinOsmanbasic and @ReneMaric.
(First goalless game for Bayern since 59 games btw, apparently it needs a Spielverlagerer to neutralise a Spielverlagerer. 😄)

I spoke with the Times about two of my best friends who happened to meet each other on a Bundesliga pitch on Saturday. So, so proud of them. A milestone in the history of @spielvercom.
The bloggers who turned passion for tactics into Bundesliga coaching jobs.
A shared love of the game and obsession over tactical patterns took friends @ReneMaric and @AdinOsmanbasic from humble beginnings to Bayern Munich and Schalke thetimes.com/sport/football/…

If you want to go from obsessed football fan to understanding the game at a deeper level, here’s how I did it.
Go on spielverlagerung.com and read in this order:
1. spielverlagerung.com/2016/03…
2. spielverlagerung.com/2021/07…
3. spielverlagerung.com/2020/05…
4. spielverlagerung.com/2021/11…
5. spielverlagerung.com/2014/12…
You will need to re read these as some of them are quite dense and you will pick different things up each pass. Pro tip: if you’re struggling for time you can paste the link into Eleven Labs and listen as audio.
Whilst doing this I was also reading posts on here , watching games and videos on YouTube etc which resulted in a deep dive that went over 100hrs in 1 week. I presume this isn’t normal however.
I also feel it’s right to give recognition when it’s due and these 3 people are incredible for building football knowledge:

Argentina is one of the most interesting teams I ever watched. Very unique flair, great activity, confidence and game competence. They handle so many situations differently than any other team and still it makes so much sense.
They're difficult to put into words, but I'll try:

POSITIONAL PLAY AS A GROUP STRATEGY
The secret of Spain's dominance is not only structure and technical quality, but an amazing collective movement that allows them to apply their prefered solutions extremely often.
They want to find the free player and he's ALWAYS there.

I am super excited for that game. Perfect tactics board football vs a unique brand of possession. Really looking forward to dissect how that plays out.

An ode to Argentine possession football: a beautifully organic, role-driven brand of fútbol de potrero that’s almost impossible to copy & perfectly suited to this generation’s talents. A must see & read!

I’ve heard that @Spielvrlagerung has an excellent World Cup preview series in which analyses of the respective teams are published two days before the start of each group. :)
On this page, all of the analyses are linked: spielverlagerung.de/die-spie…
