An open letter to a modern day Nazi:
I've read a lot of manifestos over the years. Fixed enough broken things to recognize when someone's confusing "decisive action" with "burn it all down because I'm scared." And this? This bullshit worship of nutcases like Yarvin, and pretending you aren't supporting Hitler at the same time? This is fear dressed up in Roman cosplay, trying real hard to sound inevitable while pitching the exact recipe that's collapsed every time it's been tried. The worst part? You're right that democracy is messy. It is. It's slow and frustrating and full of people who disagree and yeah, sometimes gridlock prevents anything from happening. But you know what else it prevents? One person deciding your life doesn't matter. It's the worst system except for all the others, because at least it builds in the assumption that power corrupts and needs checking. Your system assumes we can just find the right strongman and trust him not to abuse absolute power.
How's that worked out, historically?
EVERY SINGLE TIME?
Let's start with the diagnosis, because you're not entirely wrong about the symptoms. Yeah, America's got problems, deep ones. Infrastructure crumbling, wealth inequality grinding people down, political gridlock that makes actual governance near impossible, systems failing the folks they're supposed to serve. I'm not going to pretend those aren't real. They are. People are cold and hungry and scared right now while politicians play theater and corporations extract wealth upward.
But your prescription? That's where we diverge hard.
You're selling efficiency through authoritarianism like it's a feature, not the bug that eats civilizations from inside. "One vision, one authority" sounds clean on paper until you realize you're describing a system where dissent gets you disappeared, where questioning the leader makes you a traitor, where the only acceptable thought is state-approved thought. You mock "Twitter rants" like free speech is trivial, but here's the thing: the second you give someone the power to decide which speech undermines the state, you've handed them the power to silence anyone who says "maybe this is going badly." You're promising order through hierarchy, but what you're actually describing is a protection racket where loyalty matters more than competence, where the "strong leader" becomes whatever narcissist or sociopath seizes power first, where "the weak follow or fall away" is just a clean way of saying "we let people die and maybe if we don't think they are useful, well there's a final solution for that." That's not civilization, my friend. That's just deciding some people don't count.
And historically? Every single time someone's pitched "just give me absolute power and I'll fix everything," it's ended in mass graves and burnt cities. Mussolini's efficiency got Italy bombed to rubble and him strung up by his own people. Franco's stability meant decades of terror, suppression, and Spain limping into modernity only after he died. Rome? The empire you're romanticizing spent centuries in civil war, political assassinations, and collapsed under the weight of its own corruption and overreach. The "barbarians" it brought "civilization" to might tell a different story about genocide and exploitation if we bothered listening.
This Imperium Americanum pitch lol? Buddy, we've been running an informal empire for decades and it's bankrupting us morally and financially, your opinion is proof of that. You want to make it official, expand it, "integrate Canada and Mexico" (real curious what verb you're hiding under "integrate"), dominate space and crush rivals. You know what that costs? Not just money, souls. It means permanent war, endless surveillance, a military state where resources go to conquest while people at home still can't afford insulin. Rome didn't fall because it wasn't fascist enough. It fell because empires collapse under their own weight, because you can't occupy everyone forever, because eventually the cruelty comes home. Remember everyone in this country owns a gun and there is more than one Luigie out there.
You dismiss "whiners crying about rights and freedoms" like liberty's a luxury we can't afford. But here's the truth you're dancing around: those freedoms aren't abstractions. They're the only thing standing between regular people and the boot you're so eager to lick. "Speech curbed if it undermines the state" means you can't organize against injustice, can't call out corruption, can't protect your neighbor when they come for them. "Corporatism where business serves the nation" is just state-controlled capitalism where whoever's in power decides who gets rich and who starves. "Family protected from degenerate influences" is code for state control of bedrooms, books, and who gets to exist.
You claim this isn't about hate, but about survival. But survival for who? Because everything you've described involves deciding some people are drains, some cultures need diluting away, some voices need silencing. That's not unity. That's just picking different people to oppress and calling it order, the exact same thing our parents died for in WWII (well mine at least, yours maybe didn't serve on the side of the light) in case you forgot.
You want inevitable? Here's inevitable: authoritarianism eats itself. Always has. The competent don't rise, the loyal do, and loyalty means not questioning when things go wrong. The weak don't just "fall away," they get pushed, and eventually that includes anyone who's inconvenient. The empire doesn't bring stability, it brings resistance, rebellion, and collapse. And the people pitching it as the answer are usually the ones who think they'll be in the inner circle, right up until they're not.
If you want to fix America's real problems, here's a thought: we could try actually living up to the ideals we claim instead of abandoning them because they're hard. Feed people. House them. Build infrastructure that serves everyone, not just the connected. Tax wealth that's been hoarded while people work three jobs. Make healthcare a right, not a profit center. Invest in education that teaches thinking, not obedience. Protect the vulnerable instead of deciding they're drains. That's harder than your fascist fantasy because it requires seeing everyone as human, but it's the only thing that's ever actually worked long-term.
Democracy didn't fail, my friend. We stopped maintaining it. And your solution is to replace it with a system that's failed bloodily every time it's been tried, betting this time will be different because you really, really want to believe someone can impose order from above.
They can't. They never could. And the price of finding out is paid in bodies, including the bodies of those most vulnerable, like our wives, children, parents.
So no. Not inevitable. Not good. Just the same old bull shit authoritarian pitch dressed up in new rhetoric, selling the same poison and expecting different results.
Hard pass.
