Men can theoretically marry a younger wife, but they generally don’t. - Most (over 60%) of marriages have an age gap within 3 years. - Under 3% of marriages have a 15 year + age gap. - They are around a third more likely to end in divorce. - Men who make more are also less represented in 15+ age gap marriages. Although ultra wealthy men are an exception.

Realise I had lost my wonderful husband and be horribly upset that I might never see him again. I would also have lost my father, my brother and my cousin. What an awful hypothetical.

Neologism of the Day: BLUEGIE Someone who forcefully defends picking Blue in a self-righteous manner. Bonus Bluegie points for coupling with utter disbelief & horror for even contemplating the possibility of picking Red. Max Bluegie points for steadfastly refusing to use logic.

I feel the need to talk logistics You have 1 Polaroid. You want to send it to 3000 men. Postage would cost around £600 for 3,000 second-class stamps and £150-£300 in envelopes in 1995. 1. You could try a self-addressed envelope. However, I’m not convinced you could rely on them to send it back. If each man kept it for 1 day to look and it took 1 day each way (3-day round trip), then that would take 9,000 days. Or 24.7 years. 2. You could take 3,000 Polaroids - they come in packs of 10 so you’d need 300 packs of them. The cost would be around £3,000-£4,500. 3. You could photocopy them. That would cost around £900-£1,500. Giving minimum costs as follows

Choice 1 - 24.7 years £1500 Choice 2 - £3750 Choice 3 - £1650 Not a money spinner. No idea where you’d get a list of 3000 men who would want them either and addressing, stamping, filling and mailing 3000 envelopes is no joke. I don’t think social stigma was the main barrier here.

She’s currently failing to transition from pure hypergamy on dating apps to mid-term relationships. This is either because she’s aiming at men who won’t date her or simply because high value men have so many options. nitter.gq/squiggle888/status/200…
We've all seen the brutal hypergamy diagram in apps... But what happens next, once you're actually dating (3 months to ~2 years)? Hypergamy reduces. A lot. Mirrored preferences create abundance for most - and "god mode" for averages. 🧵👇

I was always so jealous of people who could just go out and do exercise in a little strappy bra while I needed a complex feat of engineering to ensure I wasn’t in pain.

The AI dash. (—) seems to be appearing everywhere now. Are people writing their tweets with AI or is this becoming normalised? Personally I hate and despise it and don't remember ever seeing it before a year or so ago. Am I just a dinosaur? What does everyone else think?

A woman has lost 90% of the eggs she was born with by 30. But then she lost 65% before she hit puberty. But there's a scarier statistic. A woman loses 80% of the eggs she had at 18 by the time she hits 30. Losing around 1000 eggs per month. Tick tock.
