I made a quick mini-app last week to see what low-latency geographically distributed pub-sub looks like in the context of multi-region web applications with live DOM updates. Built with @rails, @stimulusreflex, @flydotio and @realkeydb (just for fun). 😊 global-presence.fly.dev

Nice analysis from @fractaledmind on how @stimulusreflex fits into #rails. "...when you provide a mechanism to build server<->client interactions centered on Verbs (RPC) and not Nouns (REST), you unlock a new kind of composability." fractaledmind.com/articles/o…

Q: Why do we specify the recipient (:foo) of a CableReady broadcast in []? cable_ready[:foo].operations(...).broadcast Wouldn't it make more sense to broadcast(:foo) ? A: CableReady lets you build operation queues for multiple recipients at the same time, with thread safety.

Stimulus 3 is out! Amazing. Thank you to all contributors. However: *please* do not change your package names. Major libraries - including @stimulusreflex - will continue to depend on `stimulus`. We're trying to avoid fragmentation (and downloading Stimulus twice). 🥰

My course stimulusreflexpatterns.com/ not only features power techniques for dealing with @stimulusreflex, but also conveys an overview of my Rails engineering philosophy. Go check it out 💚

I'm editing Monday's upcoming podcast episode and the creator of the app we're talking about said if he ever makes a million dollars from his app he'll give half of it to @stimulusreflex due to how much he loves that library. (This is not a binding contract!)

It's past time for Rubygems/Bundler to evolve to support "sidecar" gem+npm packages. @stimulusreflex and CableReady have a module that checks for js/rb version mismatches and other gotchas: github.com/stimulusreflex/st… npm isn't going away, so let's make gems 2021-compliant. ✊🧑‍🏭💎

If you're teaching Rails, I personally don’t care if they learn React. I understand that you’re attempting to make them as hireable as possible, but React is TOUGH to learn, especially as a novice. If you want them to learn about reactivity, teach them @stimulusreflex.

@StimulusReflex Discord is like a 24/7 pair-programming party with special guest appearances by some of your favorite Ruby heroes. I'm only slightly exaggerating. Come hang discord.gg/stimulus-reflex

The @stimulusreflex docs really helped me out this week at work. It was incredibly easy to find what I needed & clarified what was going on. 5 minutes later I had the feature up and running properly. T’was magical. Major thanks to all the folks involved there! 🙌🙌🙌

Don't make tooling decisions based on eliminating JS from your workflow - a mediocre outcome. Instead, focus on finding the sweet spot where you can combine best-in-class JS libraries with SSR. The real 10x win of @stimulusreflex is eliminating client/server state sync, not JS.
