After battling drug addiction for 15–20 years, they are now beginning a new chapter. I assured them my support in setting up their own food carts so they can earn a livelihood with dignity. Recovery must lead to self-reliance.

I have assured the recovering youth that we will facilitate their job placements & Start ups. Rehabilitation must lead to a livelihood — skills, employment, dignity and economic independence are essential for a lasting return to mainstream life. I was also deeply concerned to learn of alleged drug sales in the vicinity of the rehabilitation centre. This allegation must be verified immediately, and if found true, strict action should follow. A rehabilitation centre must be a safe space for recovery, not a place where vulnerable youth remain exposed to drugs. #nashamuktpunjab

I had earlier raised the urgent need for the Zirakpur-Panchkula Bypass, a critical project for decongesting one of North India’s worst traffic bottlenecks. The ₹1,983 crore project, part of the Tricity Ring Road funded by the centre has already received major clearances and approvals from the Enviornment & Forest , including defence land permission. Yet commuters continue to suffer daily due to repeated delays and administrative bottlenecks. The Punjab Government and all concerned local authorities must now act swiftly to resolve pending issues and ensure that construction is expedited in mission mode. Every day of delay means massive traffic jams, fuel wastage, pollution and economic loss for lakhs of commuters travelling towards Chandigarh, Panchkula, Himachal and Punjab. On my birthday, I was humbled to hand over newly constructed and renovated homes to families affected by the Punjab floods, as we culminate our six-month-long relief and rehabilitation efforts across Chak Aul, Ramdass, Nangal Sohal, Punjgarien, Jattan and Dharamkot Pattan. Deeply touched by the blessings of our farmer brothers and sisters. I remain committed to stand by them and ensure rightful support and compensation.
