Today we crossed a MASSIVE milestone - $8 million in government awards! To think we went from a tiny desk in a one-car garage, to having a team ship out material destined to assist the WARFIGHTER is pretty awesome. Glad we took the leap of faith and figured out this GovCon game.

Find me a manufacturer that isn't late on an order. If that's the case, this is our process to notify the government: Call for the exact date → add a buffer → submit a PAR and if they ask for consideration, lowball it. Be transparent. Build credibility. Never ghost the DLA.
18
If you end up winning a DLA award, the question becomes: Are you pulling the right info from that contract? The main things should always be: Award number, PR number, NSN, part number, CLIN info, packaging requirements, ship-to, FOB. If you're already pulling 8 out of 10 - You’re solid! And if you're pulling less, it's time to tighten up.
27
Your DIBBS bid isn’t getting awarded for 2 reasons: 1. DLA doesn’t know who you are 2. Your pricing SUCKS Fix: Bid often. Go to manufacturers, not distributors. It took us 4 months to win our first award. Stay consistent.

You’re forgetting SDVOSBs! In the next several years, the DIB will prioritize those who served this country more than other set asides and rightfully so! For those with a disabled veteran status, you’d be missing a massive opportunity by not verifying your business as an SDVOSB and bidding on government contracts.
Super interesting time to be a small manufacturer relevant to the defense industrial base. Especially for firms in sectors SBA & Dept of War have flagged as priorities: munitions & components, drones, microelectronics, critical minerals, shipbuilding & repair components, sensors, batteries, castings & forgings, textiles. Here's a snapshot of the major federal moves this yr aimed at pulling more small manufacturers in to meet national security needs: 1. Office of Industrial Base Growth: In January, Dept of War stood up the Office of Industrial Base Growth, which absorbed the Office of Small Business Programs and widened its mandate to new entrants, mid-tier firms & nontraditional suppliers. 2. LYNX: On January 29, DoW launched LYNX, a platform built for new entrants, small businesses & nontraditional suppliers that have the technical chops but struggle to navigate defense requirements & find partners. 3. Civil Reserve Manufacturing Network - $131 million pilot: Created in the FY26 NDAA, CRMN builds a network of commercial manufacturers willing to convert production capacity to defense work during a crisis. 4. Made in America Loan Guarantee - up to $5 million at a 90% guarantee: On March 31, SBA announced a 90% federal guarantee for small manufacturers (vs. the standard 75% under 7a) to finance equipment, facility modernization, inventory, acquisitions & capacity expansion. 5. Manufacturer fee waivers - 0% upfront fees: SBA, 7(a) & 504 loan programs. Through Sept 30, manufacturers paid 0% upfront fees on 7(a) loans up to $950K and 0% upfront & annual fees on 504 loans. The FY27 fee schedule, effective Oct 1, keeps a 0% upfront fee on 7(a) loans to manufacturers up to $700K. 6. Smaller War Plants Commission: SBA & Dept of War, joint MOU, central coordinating body for small defense suppliers. On August 25, SBA & DoW established the SWPC, named after the WWII-era Smaller War Plants Corporation. The mandate is to pair enhanced SBA guarantees with investment & contracting opportunities, build an inventory of small business production capacity for CRMN, deploy joint teams to remove regulatory barriers, and report regularly to the President. 7. 8(a) fast track for critical defense manufacturers: SBA, 8(a) Business Development Program, 10 priority NAICS codes. On September 10, SBA began prioritizing 8(a) applications from firms in 10 defense-critical manufacturing codes, including: - ammunition (small arms & other) - guided missiles & space vehicles - aircraft parts - navigation & guidance systems - electronic components - iron & steel - machine shops - fabricated metal - shipbuilding & repair The gap is significant. Only 1.2% of active 8(a) firms are registered in those codes, and three of them have zero 8(a) firms. 8. SBA & Dept of War capital agreement: On October 12, SBA & DoW signed an MOA putting money behind the SWPC. DoW's Economic Defense Unit will identify small defense suppliers that need financing & refer them into SBA's 7(a) & 504 lender networks. SBA will also handle diligence, underwriting & portfolio management for DoW-funded redeemable preferred equity in small & mid-sized firms. 9. Army Manufacturing Rodeo: On October 12 at AUSA, Acting Army Secretary Adam Telle announced a "Manufacturing Rodeo," a race between industrial base partners early next year that will strain the Army's organic industrial base & the broader manufacturing network to find the weak links, fix them & keep iterating.

Been working on a PROMO Video for our SaaS, GovScraper - How'd we do? Typically reviewing an RFQ takes eight minutes for each one.. if you're doing twenty a day, that's nearly three hours wasted on just research. Our tool, GovScraper, pulls every DIBBS opportunity into your dashboard automatically. Eight minutes of review becomes just thirty seconds! Stop building spreadsheets. Start building relationships. 7-day free trial → govscraper.com #GovCon #GovernmentContracting #DLA

"national politics has nothing to do with why we're sitting in my dirt lot. local politics, city leadership... these are the things that concern me" this is the single most important mental reframe standing between us and city governance that's not insane
Don't let anyone tell you @spencerpratt only does bro-casts and can't appeal to the liberal elite. Look who showed up on my podcast.

Seeing the ins & outs of gov contracts, both on the supplies and services side, I can’t tell you how many contracts I’ve seen go to an unqualified awardee. Not unqualified because they are not good, but because they don’t meet the requirements of the contract. Huge win @SecWar
We are taking a sledgehammer to the oldest DEI program in the federal government—the 8(a) program.

Red Eye from LA to Ft. Lauderdale to train a client on Government Contracting. Running a business means I have to be willing to do what others won't. Most training is done via Zoom because of convenience but it's terrible. So, we come to our clients or they come to us. It's how we stay ahead of our competition.

After 5+ years and 300+ awards, here are the 3 biggest mistakes we made early in GovCon: *Paying up front instead of getting Net-30 *Bidding in too many FSCs *Inconsistency is the real killer Fix these and you’ll see more traction, more quotes, and more awards. GovCon isn’t hard… but it does require discipline.

The number one way to market is through social media. 9 months ago, I was terrible (still not great), but even with that, I get more potential clients connecting via different platforms than I ever imagined. Even if it's not perfect, try it out and start posting content everywhere... here's a reel I just made for government contracting.

How is this possible? Approved and verified with Oauth w/ @Google to integrate emails into our SaaS, then I get told it’s not verified. What am I missing?

When building, make sure to join a ton of groups. It’ll give you a ton of ideas, connections, and inspiration that you can use on your own work. Just jump in and scroll through, you’d be surprised how niche some groups are.

In a meeting today for our annual Quality Management System review to maintain our AS9100 and ISO9001 certification. Such a pain in the ass, but worth it. Gives contractors access to Higher Level Quality contracts with the DoD. Last year led to over 800k in awards for us

You’re not too small for GovCon - you’re just not specific enough. Stop chasing every FSC. Pick 3–4, build vendor relationships, and get in reps. Growth starts with focus, not size. #GovCon #GovernmentContracting #DLA #SmallBusiness #GovScraper

1,473 new DLA RFQs just today. And that's a typical day inside of DIBBS. Every day = new opportunities to bid. For ones that interest us, we check the procurement history, manufacturer, delivery terms, and packaging. The process with any RFQ doesn’t change. If you're not doing government contracting - what's stopping you?! #GovCon #DLA #DIBBS #SmallBusiness #MeNDSourcing

Just jumped on trustmrr (@marclou) to see where we rank among startups. As a side gig, thought I’d be buried since I’m not the coder, just the architect of GovScraper, but we’re sitting at #26 out of hundreds! Clout chasing? Maybe. But I like competition - top 10 by 2026.

Having my first podcast interview this AM. Excited to share about the company, the industry, and the opportunity within Government Contracting. 10k listeners per month which ain’t bad. I’m not thinking it’ll turn into much, but I’m preparing like it’s Joe Rogan…

Earned my first few dollars through YouTube and super pumped! Only took about a year (I know I know) and this income comes from someone who signed up as a member. A member? What the heck is that? Apparently I gotta give them perks?
