$70 MILLION BUCKS - A SOLE-SOURCED CONTRACT AND QUESTIONS THE UCP STILL WON'T ANSWER. Seven weeks after taking office, the UCP government directed AHS to sign a $70-million Tylenol deal involving MHCare, with millions paid up front. Now we have serious questions about a competing proposal that may have offered faster delivery, at a lower cost, and without MHCare's $10-million administration fee. Who made the decision to tank that proposal, and why? Meanwhile, court documents confirm an ongoing RCMP criminal investigation into procurement practices at Alberta Health and AHS, involving the offences of fraud, breach of trust and money laundering. Today, I pressed the government for answers. Why does MHCare remain an active bidder on government contracts? What was the involvement of the Premier's office in hiring relatives of MHCare's principal to work in government ministries? And has MHCare or any of its affiliates received further government contracts? Unfortunately, today wasn't Disclosure Day but I feel its coming. #abpoli #ableg #abtory #ucp #rcmp #accountability Watch the exchange.

#ableg The UCP spent a YEAR on new electoral boundaries 26 hearings
198 submissions Then they threw it out, could NOT find a SINGLE legal body willing to help find a chair for the replacement, and built a deadline their own election agency says it can't meet UCP Corruption🧵
Please see my letter below responding to the Chief Electoral Officer’s recent correspondence regarding next year’s provincial election.

We have the maps! And yes! It's gerrymandering! (Especially for Lethbridge and Banff-Kananskis) Let's take a look! /1

We should not have the courts involved. We had a Commission. It submitted a report. The UCP didn’t like that report, because the changes in it were fair. So there was an effort at a “minority” report. Which is not a thing. Which led us to this compromised, secret process.
I don’t know if you’ve seen it. I’ve not seen the new map. If it’s unfair in some way, there’s recourse through the courts. “Far rightists” are not stealing an election.

For immediate release: "For months, the Alberta NDP Caucus has been warning against UCP attempts to violate the democratic rights of Albertans and bring in election maps only meant to deliver a win for the UCP in the next election no matter what voters want. "Elections Alberta warned Danielle Smith months ago that they need 12 to 18 months to implement new maps under perfect conditions. Instead, the UCP repeatedly changed the law to help themselves, denied Elections Alberta the resources it requested, and put all Albertans through a wasteful and incredibly costly referendum. Now Elections Alberta says they just don’t have enough time to implement the UCP’s rigged map in time for the October 27 fixed election date — a date already extended by Danielle Smith to give herself six more months in power. "Danielle Smith and the UCP should have implemented the independent commission’s report six months ago and they could still do it now. Albertans deserve to vote in free, fair and timely elections. The UCP should stop cheating and do the right thing."

The premier has no mandate to move forward with petty and costly fights against Canada. Albertans want a government that will work with our Canadian neighbours to improve healthcare, strengthen education, and make life more affordable.

Albertans don't get to see the new commissions maps for a few days, but Nenshi made it clear today that the Gerrymandering is real. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

Odds are strong that UCP will tilt election odds by stretching city ridings into rural Alberta. A new report, still supposed to be secret, shows at least three Calgary ridings are in play. Column. calgaryherald.com/opinion/co… #ableg #abpoli #cdnpoli #yyc #yeg

In Canada, we don’t allow rigged elections. But the UCP keeps breaking democratic norms by giving themselves the power to redraw Alberta's new election maps. It's a blatant attempt to cheat in the next election. We will always fight for fair elections.

BREAKING!!! At Nenshi's presser on the UCP's Gerrymandering, it came out that the Ethics Commissioner has had to suspend his investigation into ministers accepting elite hockey tickets... Because it overlaps with a CRIMINAL investigation!

How much was the fix in on the gerrymandering report and making sure Albertans never know how it was made? Watch this clip. Danielle Smith sent her very best lapdogs to do exactly what she wanted. Wonder what treats they get now that they did their trick?

More and more is coming to light in the CorruptCare scandal. We demand Danielle Smith call a public inquiry, NOW. This involves at least $614,000,000 of Albertans' money at a time many people are struggling to find a doctor and get timely surgeries. We all deserve transparency and accountability.

.@ABDanielleSmith, now that we’re all assured that UCP is not a separatist party and all UCP MLAs support unity, why not have a vote in the Legislature on question #10 as requested by #ForeverCanadian? As a federalist leader, you’d want to send such a powerful message of unity.
Bob Fife on Danielle Smith telling separatists in the UCP to find another home: "Why didn't she say that at the beginning? This is somebody who has fed them, nurtured them and accommodated them, and now they're coming for her."

Hey Alberta: is this incompetence or a full on intentional lie? 9003 Acute Care Spaces is NOWHERE near a record number for our prov In the late 1980s we had 17,790 acute care spaces in hospitals (~12,000 acute care beds, +LTC beds) 1988: 7.4 beds/1000 2026: 1.5 beds/1000 1/2
