So many people act like attending to their kids is such a big sacrifice and loss of freedom because they conditioned their mind to chase productivity, money, and status, and they can no longer see that being able to spend time with their kids and watch them grow is one of the highest blessings, privileges, and forms of wealth that they will ever get to experience.

You’re standing on a planet with molten lava at its core. Trees are turning sunlight into air you can breathe. Your heart is beating without you asking it to. There’s a moon in the sky and bugs that glow. This whole thing is absurdly beautiful.

Don’t worry about AI, guys. My four-year-old is doing her part to so wear them down with her coloring page requests, they will all quit and we can go back to the old days.

A big shift that happened during my life. When I was young, if something was very commercially popular, you were not supposed to take it seriously. The popularity was proof that it was mediocre. It damaged its the reputation. If there was some popularity it was ok to take serious, but it couldn't be too much. The reverse is true now though. The popularity of something is proof of its greatness. And that you should spend time analyzing it. This is for true for movies, music, books, celebrities, games, etc.

The best tasting meat stick on the market. Launching in less than a month. Which flavor are you choosing for the presale? Origin: Deep, savory beef with a slow-fermented tang and a clean snap that finishes rich. Hatch: Roasted green chile heat wrapped in that same rich, tangy beef. A little kick that goes a long way. Like, comment & repost + DM your physical & email address and we’ll send you a free sample pack (no strings attached) after our first batch arrives.

When you have small children, especially children under five, you must simplify your life. You do not need a bigger house. You need a house that is easier to clean, maintain, and manage. You do not need more money nearly as much as you need to spend the money you have more wisely. You do not need more activities. You need activities that are simple, nearby, and suitable for doing with several children. You do not need a more impressive schedule. You need a predictable routine that reduces confusion and makes daily life easier. You do not need more possessions. You need fewer things to organize, repair, clean, and put away. You do not need a more demanding career. You need work that leaves enough time, patience, and attention for your family. You do not need a complicated social life. You need relationships that fit naturally into family life rather than pulling you away from it. Children under five require an extraordinary amount of work. They need help with nearly everything, and they need constant supervision, repetition, and attention. During those years, every unnecessary complication takes time and energy away from parenting. The goal is to arrange your life so that as little effort as possible is wasted on maintaining complexity. The simpler your life becomes, the more of yourself you have left for your children. As they grow older, the equation changes. They become more independent, more capable, and easier to include in a wider range of activities. That is the time to take on more complicated projects, expand your career, travel more extensively, or pursue ambitions that demand greater time and concentration. The early years are not the time to prove how much you can manage. They are the time to remove everything unnecessary so that you can give your children what they cannot receive later: your full presence while they are small.

I am all for keeping your calendar as empty as you can. By all means say no to a bunch of stuff that will steal your day away. But this is a damn strange way to participate in a marriage.
why Naval deleted his calendar, ghosts everyone, and refuses to be anywhere at a specific time Naval: "I read a blog post by Marc Andreessen where he said don't keep a schedule. And I took that to heart. So I deleted my calendar and I don't keep a schedule. I try to remember it all in my head. If I can't remember it, I'm not going to add it." "I have a nasty email autoresponder that says, I don't check email and don't text me either. If you need to find me, you'll find me." "My wife knows not to ever book or schedule me for anything. I'm not expected to go to couples dinners. I'm not expected to go to birthdays. I'm not expected to go to weddings. If somebody tries to rope her into having me show up, she says he makes his own decisions. You got to ask him directly." Chris: "Are you not killing serendipity in a way?" Naval: "No. I'm freeing up all my time. So my entire life is serendipity. I get to interact with whoever I want, whenever I want, wherever."

The woman in the photo grew up literally down the road, won 4 Utah state championships (1 in this exact stadium), Gatorade Player of the Year twice, National Player of the Year, scored the fastest first goal in USWNT history… Could probably be worth a mention, but idk.
