Talik Keaton

September 4, 2021 — Marshall at Navy The first-ever meeting between Marshall and Navy turned into a beatdown in Annapolis. Marshall 49, Navy 7. Rasheen Ali had his breakout performance with 4 rushing touchdowns, scoring all three of Marshall’s first-half TDs. Grant Wells threw for 333 yards, Talik Keaton had 100 receiving yards, Corey Gammage added 94, and Sheldon Evans scored twice on the ground. The Herd defense and special teams made life miserable for Navy. 9 sacks. 2 interceptions. 1 blocked punt. (I swear we had 2 but I couldn’t find it in the official game recap). 1 blocked field goal. Eli Neal had 11 tackles and 3 sacks, Abraham Beauplan led the Herd with 13 tackles, while Steven Gilmore and Keylin Roach each picked off a pass. Navy ran 92 plays and possessed the football for 41:19. They scored 7 points. Marshall led 21-0 at halftime, kept Navy scoreless through three quarters, and walked out of Annapolis with a 49-7 win. We Are… MARSHALL! 🦬
