How many Indian Rock Eagle Owls can you spot in this stunning photo🦉They truly are masters of camouflage. Captured at the Nagamalai Hillock Biological Heritage Site in Erode district in TN, this photograph hides a rare visual puzzle from the wild. These magnificent birds are a powerful reminder of why Biological Heritage Sites matter. Protected landscapes like Nagamalai safeguard fragile ecosystems where species like the Indian Rock Eagle Owl continue to survive. A beautiful elephant family sleeps deep inside the Anamalai Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu, an extraordinary moment captured on camera. The young one gently rests its leg on an elder, seeking comfort, security and love. In the world of elephants, family is everything. And around them stands the forest silent, protective, eternal like a cradle holding life itself. On this International Day of Forests, this tender scene reminds us of a simple truth: if forests do not exist, nothing will remain. Nothing at all. Without forests, the world would be poorer, harsher, emptier. For elephants, for wildlife, for rivers, for people forests are life Incredible capture @dhanu_paran #InternationalDayofForest #forestday #InternationalDayofForest

Something incredibly exciting is happening in Gudalur in The Nilgiris District which has been facing serious human wildlife conflict for years but this is now set to change. The Tamil Nadu Forest Department has just launched another AI-powered Command and Control Centre using 46 AI enabled thermal cameras to detect wildlife movement early and warn people with real time alerts. This is backed by round-the-clock monitoring and rapid response teams. We plan to minimise wildlife and Human deaths aiming zero casualties. These are still early days, but the effort is on ground. Funded by @TN_Plan the project is painstakingly executed by the dynamic & committed DFO Thiru N. Vengatesh and his energetic team. This initiative is one of its kind following a whole of landscape approach. #tnforest #elephants ##wildlifeconservation #humanwildlifeconflict @IUCN @WWF @wii_india
