100%, did not regret getting up in the middle of the night to see the Tesla Roadster demo. This was the most sick, inspiring, awesome demo I ever seen. My family couldn't believe it was real. They still think it's AI, even though they see the audience.
In most org people meet to talk ABOUT the work, at SpaceX people just do the work.
A retired NASA engineer who had worked on the Space Shuttle program for 25 years was hired by SpaceX at age 62. He described the first week as the most disorienting experience of his professional life.
At NASA, a design change required 3 meetings, 2 committees, a review board, and 6 to 18 months of documentation. At SpaceX, his new supervisor said "if it works, build it. If it doesn't, change it by Friday."
He sat at his desk after the first day and called his wife. He told her he felt like a man who had been swimming with ankle weights for 25 years and someone just cut them off. He could move. He could decide. He could build something in the morning and test it in the afternoon. The constraint that he had accepted as the nature of aerospace engineering turned out to be the nature of bureaucracy.
Within 6 months he had contributed to more design iterations than he had completed in his last 5 years at NASA. Not because he was working harder. Because the time between having an idea and testing the idea collapsed from months to hours. The same brain. The same knowledge. A different operating system.
He described a specific moment where he proposed a modification to a Raptor engine component. At NASA, the proposal would have entered a queue. At SpaceX, the modification was machined by the end of the day and tested by the following morning. He watched his idea become a physical object in 18 hours. At NASA, 18 hours would not have been enough to schedule the first meeting to discuss whether to schedule a meeting.
He told an interviewer: "I didn't get smarter when I went to SpaceX. I got faster. The intelligence was always there. The system was in the way."
The difference between SpaceX and NASA is not talent. NASA has extraordinary talent. The difference is the time between a thought and a test. SpaceX compresses it. NASA elongates it. The same engineer produces 10x more at SpaceX than at NASA because the bottleneck was never the engineer. It was the meetings about the meetings about the work.

Imagine testing out Tesla's FSD and having it immediately keep you from getting hurt in an accident.
The people trying to block this technology from reaching their country or city are either highly ignorant or simply do not care about their people.

Famous Dutch Youtuber @Enzoknol was testing out FSD when a car drove straight through the red light. You can see by their reaction how impressed they are by the software.
The public perception of FSD is really good in the Netherlands. Most people seem to like it and I see a lot of Dutch spoken clips on social media of instances where FSD is performing super well.

Difficult to believe she is actually in the air.
She said she will be able to tell her kids that she remembers the times when you had to fly without Starlink.
Just ordered my 4th Tesla. Now, just waiting for Sweden to approve FSD. I bought "FSD" already on my first Tesla. A long wait. Expecting my next Tesla to be a Cybercab.

Two things weaken it. “High-quality outcomes and real insights” is vague, and it’s close to the three-word power phrases on your avoid list. The “it’s not about X, it’s about Y” ending is also a common AI-sounding pattern.

Det finns många anledningar att rösta på Kristdemokraterna på söndag. Här är några av mina bästa anledningar.
-Värderingsstriden. Kristdemokraterna menar allvar med att toleransen i Sverige har gränser, att vi aldrig ska vara toleranta mot intolerans. Om islam ska utövas i Sverige måste den anpassas till våra svenska värderingar. Därför går vi bland annat till val på att förbjuda burka och niqab i offentliga miljöer. Att likställa dessa plagg, som syftar till att skyla kvinnor med andra kläder, är naiv liberalism när den är som sämst.
-Könsbyteslagen.
Kristdemokraterna går till val på att riva upp den lag som endast KD och SD motsatte sig när den stiftades, en lag som redan fått förödande konsekvenser. Manliga brottslingar som kan byta juridiskt kön i fängelset för att bli flyttade till kvinnofängelse och barn som byter kön på egen hand, utan fastställd könsdysforidiagnos – det är resultatet av oansvarig symbolpolitik.
-Ebba Buschs arv som energi- och näringsminister: regelförenklingar för företag vilket ökar svensk konkurrenskraft och som innebär krafttag för ny kärnkraft, vilket är helt avgörande för Sveriges oberoende, elpriserna och utsläppen. Ebbas ledarskap i energipolitiken är internationellt erkänt, inte minst sedan hon vägrat ge Bryssel de svenska flaskhalsmiljonerna.
-Frihet för familjer!
Till skillnad från andra borgerliga partier menar vi allvar med friheten, vi motsätter oss kvoterad föräldraförsäkring. Familjer vet bättre än staten vilken förälder som ska vara hemma och hur länge.
-Synen på EU.
Kristdemokraterna är varma EU-vänner men till skillnad från övriga borgerliga partier har vi skarpa röda linjer för unionens expansion. Vi röstar konsekvent nej till nya EU-skatter, större EU-budget och till att flytta makt till Bryssel.
-Rimlig klimatpolitik
Kristdemokraterna anser inte att Sverige bör ha högre klimatmål än resterande EU eller att EU ska höja sina mål innan de verkligt stora utsläpparna visat att de gör sin del. Vi har lägst utsläpp i EU och det ska vi vara stolta över, att ytterligare höja ambitionerna kommer med en för hög kostnad för svenska familjer och företag.
-Israel
Kristdemokraterna står upp för Mellanösterns enda liberala demokrati. Israel är en central allierad i en explosiv region som riskerar att helt tas över av bödlarna i Iran, men också viktig partner för svensk handel, försvar och innovation.
- Antisemitism
Vi tar den konkreta kampen mot judehatet; igår, idag, imorgon och så länge som det behövs för att säkra svenska judars möjlighet att leva ett tryggt och blomstrande liv.

Den svenska förtalslagen är ungefär lika modern som en hästdroska och verkar ibland vara konstruerad efter principen att sanningen är okej – bara ingen får reda på den.

Since she was seven years old, a high school swimmer woke up to an alarm clock ringing in the dark at 4:45 AM.
For ten straight years, while other kids were sleeping, she smelled like chlorine. Her shoulders ached every single day. Her fingers were pruned before the sun even rose. She missed school dances. She missed birthday parties. She spent five thousand hours in cold water chasing one dream: a college athletic scholarship.

Two lanes over was a biological male who had competed on the men's team for three years before switching to the women's division.
She swam the race of her entire life. She shaved 1.2 seconds off her personal best. Her lungs felt like they were full of broken glass.

Fifty years ago, brave women fought for Title IX so their daughters would have an equal playing field.
Now, school boards and athletic directors have sacrificed female athletes on the altar of progressive applause.
Look that eighteen-year-old girl in the eye and tell her:
Why did we tell our daughters they could achieve anything through hard work, if we are going to let biological men steal their trophies and take their futures?

As predicted, IF Metall gave up at last. What does this mean for Swedish Tesla owners?
New Superchargers and expansion of current supercharger stations can be built. The municipalities that denied Tesla approval to test FSD due to ongoing labour conflict - can now approve it without any excuse. Licens plates can be delivered to Tesla without any restrictions. Transportations of new vehicles can be done without restrictions. Service of the Superchargers can be made without any restrictions.

Most people in Sweden 🇸🇪 does not know that their future freedom of mobility is being decided upon behind their back, without any proper public debate.
The Government (via the Government Offices) is responsible for Sweden’s 🇸🇪 positions within the EU.
The Swedish Transport Agency contributes technical expertise as the Swedish representative in TCMV meetings.
However, the Swedish line of action (what Sweden is to say or how to vote) is prepared and decided upon within the Government Offices. That includes voting for or against an EU 🇪🇺 wide FSD approval.
@BuschEbba It's sad that the Swedish government neglects their responsibility to inform the public and open up a real democratic discussion on a technology that will shape how millions of people move for decades to come.
FSD in Sweden 🇸🇪
Two days before the FSD approval in the Netherlands (April 8) the Swedish Transport Agency sent out an internal mail with the subject "The Swedish Transport Agency’s proposal and handling of Tesla FSD and temporary EU approval".
They told me several weeks earlier that they wouldn't take any stance on a possible Swedish national approval before they seen the RDW approval.
In the days and weeks following the RDW approval, the Transport Agency held several internal meetings about FSD approval, both with Tesla and without them.
April 20: A mail got sent out internally that had the subject "Potential need for further alignment regarding Tesla Article 39"
April 24: A mail got sent out internally with the subject "Joint position regarding Article 39 and the RDW decision"
May 4 (One day before the TCMV meeting): A mail got sent out internally with the subject "Review of the message regarding the Tesla issue" (Genomgång av budskapet i Tesla-frågan)
Later same day the Transport Agency received a mail from the Swedish Government Office with the subject "Instructions for the TCMV meeting on May 5"
