The White House just declared the entire solar system open for American exploration and settlement “The American Declaration of Freedom in Space” proclaims that outer space is “the province of all humans” and calls for a permanent American presence beyond Earth And the ultimate goal is even extraordinary: “An interplanetary civilization” Here's the roadmap outlined in the proclamation: • Artemis III test flight campaign in 2027 • Return American astronauts to the Moon by 2028 • Establish a permanent American presence on the Moon • Eventually send the first American astronauts to Mars And this is what makes the declaration so significant For 24 years, SpaceX has been working toward making humanity multiplanetary Now the White House is explicitly embracing an interplanetary civilization as a national objective Starship is already central to NASA's plans for returning astronauts to the lunar surface The future of humanity isn't limited to Earth We're building toward becoming a spacefaring civilization
