17 years, 4 cars, 1,026,976 km, all mine and all real numbers, not brochure values. The two Peugeot diesels burned 35,280 litres over 659,000 km, that is almost 30 tonnes of fuel, and at today's β¬2.392/l in Bavaria it would cost β¬84,389. The same 659,000 km in my 2019 Model 3 would cost about β¬42,000 charged at home, losses included. A short thread for everybody who still thinks EVs are "too expensive" to run π§΅
π¨ SPACEX TO ADD ALUMINUM FURNACES AT STARLINK FACTORY IN BASTROP TEXAS
SpaceX is expanding its manufacturing capabilities at the Bastrop Starlink facility by adding aluminum furnaces.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has completed its review and issued a draft air quality permit stating the project meets all regulations.
This move strengthens vertical integration and boosts Starlink production capacity in Texas.
SpaceX continues scaling rapidly to meet growing global demand.
Switzerland hits almost 35% BEV in October without a Tesla wave, so the "nobody wants EVs" crowd now has to blame Skoda π No EU membership, no Brussels drama, just people buying what makes sense.
The Detroit News reports Tesla is quietly testing Cybercabs around Detroit, so finally a robotaxi that learns what "winter" means before it ever meets a Bavarian January βοΈ
Grok now makes your phone calls for you, with a live transcript and a little box when it needs your input. Finally an AI that can sit in the "your call is important to us" queue so I don't have to. If it survives a German BΓΌrgeramt hotline, I'll call it AGI π
Grok @Bot's new calling feature is very impressive.
You just tell it who to call and why, and it handles the conversation for you. It shows a real-time transcript of the call, and if Grok needs additional info from you, a little answer box pops up where you type/select your response, and Grok relays it to the person on the phone. Pretty incredible.
Here's an example (with the call audio) of what's it's like to use:

BREAKING NEWS! π³π± The RDW just approved Tesla's own "minor" changes to Tesla Assisted Driving, a smaller speed margin that resets to zero at every start plus the new name in the car, so the "it lets you speed" argument in the TCMV just got a lot thinner (source: RDW).
π¨ FSD EUROPE: NETHERLANDS SIGNS OFF ON THE CHANGES! π³π±πͺπΊ
The Dutch approval authority RDW just approved Tesla's update to its driver assistance system, now called Tesla Assisted Driving.
β
Speed offset cut from +50% to max +10%
β
Resets to 0% every time you start the car
β
RDW found no negative effects on system or driving behavior
β
Existing approval stays valid, 9 other EU countries informed
β
+10% is exactly what Germany agreed with Tesla in September
I'll take +10% all day if it gets FSD onto every European road faster. Tesla is ticking every box regulators ask for.
Is Germany next? π

π₯πͺπΊ Tesla 2026.39.6 software update with FSD (Supervised) v14.2.2.6 is now rolling out to the 3rd batch of owners in Europe!
β
No change to FSD release notes, so itβs likely a bug-fix version
β
It brings FSD to the 2026.38+ software branch, which includes Halloween Mode.

The big US carriers said no to SpaceX, so SpaceX goes shopping for Boost instead and suddenly everyone is "rattled". I hope Starlink Mobile crosses the Atlantic soon, Europe could use a carrier that also works in the Alps and out at sea π‘π
Exclusive: The possibility of SpaceX securing an agreement to operate a mobile network has rattled major carriers, raising concerns that Elon Musk might threaten their industry, according to interviews with nearly a dozen people in the telecom industry. wapo.st/4zqVKOG
Every time someone tells me Europeans "don't want" EVs I'll send them Denmark, where almost every new car is electric. The annoying part is that Tesla is just a tiny slice of it, even with Tesla Assisted Driving already allowed there.. π€
Denmark reported 137 Tesla sales and 0.7% market share in October. BEV penetration is 88.4% and Tesla has 0.8% of this segment. π©π°
β’ 50% Model Y and 50% Model 3
β’ +34% vs. October last year and -73% compared to July the first month of the previous quarter
β’ Last three months +20.9% vs. May - July
β’ Year-to-date +68% over same period last year
β’ Year-to-date is 123% or 14.7/12 of last year's total

Nice, now you can carry a Cybercab on your back and drink coffee out of one π
In most of Europe that's as close as you'll get to riding in one, while Brussels keeps "studying" Tesla Assisted Driving.
Tesla has just released four new online shop items:
β’Β Tesla Cybercab Backpack: $85
β’Β Cybercab Gradient Reflective Tee: $40
β’Β Cybercab Wireframe Tee: $40
β’Β Cybercab On the Road Cup paint to match: $35

Good news, but don't pop the prosecco yet. Tesla's share of the Italian market is still tiny, and a BYD Dolphin Surf and a Leapmotor T03 each outsold the Model Y there last month. Italians are buying a car whose best feature they still can't legally use at home, because Italy has not approved Tesla Assisted Driving. Rome says it wants a swift EU approval. Then stop "supporting" from the sidelines and come with a clear yes when the committee finally votes, instead of letting Berlin and Paris decide for you.
π¨ TESLA REGISTRATIONS IN ITALY SURGE 94 PERCENT IN OCTOBER
Tesla just posted massive growth in Italy.
New car registrations jumped 94 percent compared to October last year.
For the first ten months of the year registrations are still up a solid 21 percent.
Europe is waking up to Tesla and the momentum keeps building fast.
Elon Musk and the team are winning big in key markets.

πͺπΊ FSD Europe status: Latvia's CSDD joined the Tesla Assisted Driving map, Italy's transport minister backs a swift EU approval, Norway's Statens vegvesen says most states were "not ready" in October, and the EU comitology register still shows no December agenda.
FSD Europe weekly πͺπΊ Latvia became the 10th EU country with Tesla Assisted Driving, Slovenia made hands off driving legal, and Italy's transport minister now backs a swift EU approval.
Norway's road authority wrote down what everyone suspected: there was no October vote because most national authorities were "not ready", and it is still not decided whether December brings a vote at all. Germany? Still "reviewing".
The December agenda is not even published, so anyone selling you a vote date can fly down π€

Finally an AI safety plan every airline passenger already tested π Hours at cruising altitude, no signal, overpriced snacks, and a seat that won't recline. If an AI stays "aligned" through that, it's ready for anything. Best "sandbox" of the evening still went to Greg.
Same logic already works on the road. In most of Europe you still have to drive "by hand", while the countries that approved Tesla Assisted Driving are doing just fine. Give it a couple of years and refusing it will look like refusing a calculator for your tax return.
Who sells what in Spain? πͺπΈ A thread on brands and models.
BEV, last 12 months: BYD is number one as a brand, ahead of Tesla. The Model 3 is still the best selling model by far.
October: no Tesla wave this time, Tesla below 9% of BEV. Leapmotor is 3rd as a brand, and Geely's E2 is the 3rd best selling BEV.
