Raise your hands if you support that google should bring back the non-AI version of Google. Like no AI summary, no AI overview, no AI to read the internet, like we want Google to show the actual results.

How are people actually supporting this? This is disgusting and further proves that the integrity of a once great game is gone. This is a big step towards gambling companies taking over sports entirely.
The NBA has partnered with Kalshi as a Preferred Prediction Market Exchange. Official NBA data to settle trades, stronger safeguards, and NBA branding on Kalshi. Fans come to Kalshi because open markets are a fairer way to trade basketball. Now, it’s Official.

We are way past the slippery slope now
The NBA is formally stepping into the prediction markets ecosystem. The league announced agreements Monday morning with Kalshi and Polymarket that will allow the companies to use official league data and intellectual property and give the league control over what trades the companies are allowed to offer. nyti.ms/4smgsfG

3 lotto picks during Steph Curry’s window netted them Moses Moody, an extremely unreliable Kristaps Porzingis, and a few years of “development” practice. Yep, feels very much like pre-2008 to me.
Warriors start 0-3 for the first time since the 2007/08 season

how convenient for corporations rn that any condition out of the ordinary will raise prices and the removal of that condition never seems to mean they lower them

This is a good and entertaining review of the Freeland memoir. Still can’t understand why she would adopt such a frivolous title

This is a really well-written piece and its a good provocation for those who accept the supposed positive future awaiting us post-agi
The most revealing part of this conversation between Jon Stewart and Jacob Coxon wasn't Coxon's warning about A.I. doom, but his description of A.I. utopia, and Stewart's incredulous response. I wrote about it — and Francis Fukuyama's "Last Man," and A.I. easily solving the problems that bedeviled my father's field of mathematics for decades — here: nytimes.com/2026/10/18/opini…
