Marks of a biblical church:
• Faithful verse-by-verse preaching
• Administration of baptism and the Lord's Supper
• Loving practice of church discipline
• Bold proclamation of the gospel
How can anyone say this?

Countless people will assure you Heaven is your default destination, or the reward for working hard or avoiding certain sins. This is false. Salvation comes only through Jesus. Still, the question remains: how can we know God, and be confident we’ll go to Heaven, not Hell? epm.org/resources/2026/Oct/2…

“Psalm 1 opens the Psalter with the Lord blessing man. Psalm 150 closes the Psalter with man blessing the Lord. In between these poetic bookends, the psalms address all of the vicissitudes of life – from the highest highs to the lowest lows.”

My years of theological research on singleness have led me to many a conclusion. One of those is that there is nothing in the least “queer” about celibacy in the Christian life and community. Chaste singleness is a beautifully ordinary and theologically significant expression of gospel-transformed and informed obedience. It’s to be honoured as faithful. Not revered as exceptional.

This is a really good concept, excellently executed: a tracing edition of the NKJV New Testament. Writing out the text of Scripture is one helpful aid to meditation, and this is a helpful aid to actually doing that.

Here’s the critical thing no one is talking about with the plan to livestream Nidal Hasan’s execution:
People seeing a man get shot to death on their social media feed without ever asking to see it.
I already feel sorrow for the kids, teens, and innocent-minded adults who will encounter that footage while scrolling. By the time they realize what they’re watching and swipe away, they’ll have already seen it and it will be etched in their mind forever without their consent.
It will be clipped.
It will be slowed down.
It will be sped up.
It will be looped.
And it will be shared over and over until people who never wanted to watch an execution have one playing before their eyes.
Is there a biblical warrant for public executions?
Possibly.
But is there a biblical warrant for plastering a man getting shot in high definition over and over before the eyes of millions, including children?
Absolutely not.
I still remember seeing the video of Charlie Kirk getting shot before I fully realized what I was watching. I swiped away, but I still wish I could get those images out of my head. I know other people who were deeply disturbed by it, too.
There is something profoundly troubling about making someone’s death just another video between a sports clip and a funny meme.
The mental health crisis in our country is real, and much of it comes from how desensitized we are all becoming to gore and death.

I've just seen a video recommending preachers use AI to generate sermon outlines
Please don't do this
AI does not care about Jesus
AI does not care about your church
AI does not care about truth
AI does not care about God's word
AI does not care about the fruit of the Spirit
