New Year, new thread
Games I’ve beat in 2026
Game 1- Expedition 33
My 2025 Game of the Year and just a stunning RPG that may wind up my favorite RPG ever. I love the combat, the world, and the characters.
Hey @grok, what are 5 reasons for people to unfollow me?
Okay this is a great example of how to present data in both a good and bad way:
25 women and girls a day is a good way to get across your point because that’s a tragedy
“1 in 4”… that’s bad cause it makes it seem like you’re upset it’s not more men and boys dying instead
25 women and girls.
That’s how many were killed 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙙𝙖𝙮 in conflict zones in 2025.
#Peace must mean safety for women and girls.

This isn’t kindness and sympathy, it’s virtue signaling that sets that person up to harm others. If that person reoffends and hurts someone all Bennnny did was get blood on his own hands

A lot of people around me in my life are having great things happen for them in their personal lives
I don’t begrudge any of them that and I’m truly happy for them
I do wish though… that for once something good could happen to me in that area
Oh well, we press on
Reminder: the Golden Joysticks more than any other awards show weighs public voting heavily
So if you’re upset a game didn’t get nominated the harsh reality is that game probably didn’t get enough votes from the public
It's the moment you've all been waiting for. The nominees for Ultimate Game of the Year are...
🍸 007 First Light
🚶🏻 Big Walk
🔻 CONTROL Resonant
🗡️ Crimson Desert
🦸 Dispatch
🏁 Forza Horizon 6
⚔️ Phantom Blade Zero
🔴 Pokémon Pokopia
🧑🚀 PRAGMATA
🧟 Resident Evil Requiem
🚀 STAR WARS: Galactic Racer
🧛 The Blood of Dawnwalker

I think Terry works because they
1) didn't make Batman less capable to make room for a new guy, he grew old
2) Bruce is his mentor/handler
3) Terry isn't just instantly great, he's flawed & has to improve
4) It's far enough in the future for him to have his own rogues gallery
This is gross
The NBA has reached deals with Kalshi and Polymarket to make them the league's preferred prediction markets partners. The companies can now use NBA IP on their platforms, while the NBA gets right of approval on markets that they offer. That and more:

As a professional league this is an embarrassment and the executives need to get their shit together. The WNBA has had more buzz than the ever and this kind of thing can kill that
There will definitively be a Game 6 of the WNBA Finals in Atlanta. But nobody knows yet where or even when the game will be played despite a furious round of negotiations spilling into Sunday between the WNBA, NBA, Valkyries, Dream and Atlanta Hawks, sources told ESPN.
"There are problems with all the solutions," one source close to the situation said.

I can criticize BioWare all I want because I was there.
I was there for Dragon Age: Origins, the game that introduced me to RPGs and remains my favorite game to this day. I was there for Mass Effect, where I fell in love with Shepard. I was there for Dragon Age 2, and I vividly remember the disappointment of it feeling more like Mass Effect than Dragon Age. But I stuck around for the writing and because it was made by the people who gave me a game I loved.
I was there for Mass Effect 3 and its lackluster ending. I was there for Inquisition, watching devs leave the studio in droves, feeling that pit in my stomach but desperately wanting to be wrong.
I was there for the Dreadwolf teaser. One minute of practically nothing, and I still wanted so badly to believe BioWare was coming back with something great.
And I was there ten years later, watching the first Veilguard trailer and realizing the IP I loved was dead.
So don't fucking tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. I watched this studio go from making some of my favorite games of all time to this. I have every right to criticize what it's become.
