there's something about going from raw input that cannot be manipulated into a fully configurable format that's always unlocked something for me.
the last time was when Reve did editable, layered image-gen although it could've been a lot better.
same when i discovered vectorization on Illustrator, etc. back in the day.
MIDI conversion is the exact same unlock, for audio. so many possibilities to fuck-around with, especially on the right canvas (wink wink)
