Tungsten is not copper. Its market is much smaller. But that can make supply disruption more powerful. The IEA ranks tungsten among the minerals with some of the highest supply-risk exposure, reflecting concentrated supply, strategic use and limited substitution. For me, that's exactly why smaller commodity markets can occasionally create significant asymmetric opportunities. The key is finding businesses with: • Genuine scale • Sensible jurisdiction • Funding potential • A credible path towards production Scarcity only creates shareholder value if management can execute. 🐅

Lauren McDonald's recent article in @denbizjournal covers last week's conditional approval for Phase One construction of the Donald Project in Australia. This decision is a major milestone in establishing our first large-scale source of #rareearths and further strengthens our strategy to become a vertically integrated Western-aligned supply chain. For more information on how the conditional approval further strengthens our growing supply chain, check out the full article: acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aai… $UUUU $EFR $EF2 #EnergyFuels #supplychain #Mine2Magnet

Back in June I said Japan's carbide toolmakers were next on the chopping board. October: Kyocera hikes up to 40% and won't promise full allocation. Union Tool limits 8mm drill bit orders. Expect to see more price increases in the remainder of 2026.
#Tungsten Carbide manufacturers in Japan are next on the chopping board. Japanese is one of the largest Tungsten carbide cutting tools producers. They've issued price increase notices several times in 2026, including flagging supply chain issues several months ago. WF6 is a much smaller market as compared to cutting tools. But given the nature of WF6 market - high purity, and therefore scarce, it's the first segment to fall. All else equal, I anticipate this segment to fall starting as early as next month, with Fuji Seiko being the first. It will then be followed by Kyocera, Sumitomo and Mitsubishi Materials.

Chinese copper buyers rushing to secure supply in a tightening market have sent a key gauge of import demand shooting to a record high. The surge in the Yangshan premium — named after a Shanghai port that’s a major hub for Chinese copper imports — over the last couple of months reflects greater competition for the metal both inside and outside the country. $UUUU Follow-up: Will A$180M of conditional Australian loans carry the Donald rare earth mine to a go decision by end-2026? 🏦 Energy Fuels, a Colorado-based US uranium and rare earth producer, says two Australian state lenders conditionally approved up to A$180M (US$126M) of a proposed A$200M, 10-year loan for Phase 1 of its Donald project 📅 Its Oct 13, 2026 8-K targeted a Donald investment decision for Q4 2026, and the release now says by end-2026, with the last A$20M still sought from commercial lenders ⚠️ The loans fund an Astron joint venture where Energy Fuels owns 15.3%, and must still put in about US$60M cash plus US$14M of shares to earn 49%, against $83.3M cash and investments on June 30, 2026 🔥 That US$60M is about 72% of its $83.3M cash and investments on June 30, 2026, and its October share-sale prospectus lists Donald equity as a use of proceeds, so new stock may fund it 📈 US$126M is about 6.7% of the ~$1.89B market value at $7.56 at 16:00 ET on October 26, 2026, on top of a conditional $725M US Office of Strategic Capital loan from June 2026 ✅ In return, Phase 1 should yield about 9,000 tonnes a year of rare earth concentrate, all bought by Energy Fuels, enough for roughly 77% of the existing capacity at VAC, the magnet maker it is buying ⚠️ Nothing is binding yet, since the loans still need definitive documents, due diligence, the commercial lenders' share and final approvals 📅 Next: A final investment decision on Donald is targeted by the end of 2026 Source: PR Newswire release, Oct 26 + SEC 8-K/424B5, Oct 13

MP Materials sits on what Ross Perot Jr. calls "the Saudi Arabia of rare earth" in California. Jim Litinsky bought the company out of bankruptcy and wanted to start making magnets too. Ross brought him to Alliance in Fort Worth, and at the groundbreaking for the first magnet facility, Jim told him: "Ross, I can't believe it. It took me three weeks to get the air quality permit in Fort Worth. It had taken me over two years in California." Then the Pentagon bought 15% of MP Materials and asked Jim for a magnet plant 10 times bigger, right away. "So now we're building a $1.2 billion building for Jim."
Today I sit down with Ross Perot Jr., Chairman of Hillwood and The Perot Group. Ross founded Hillwood in 1988 and built Alliance Texas, his masterpiece, a 1 of 1 27,000-acre development. BREAKING: General Motors Cancels Major Supply Agreement With New U.S. Rare-Earth Magnet Factory $UUUU $GM According to a new Reuters report, General Motors has terminated its long-term supply agreement with German magnet manufacturer Vacuumschmelze (VAC), which recently opened a $500 million rare-earth magnet manufacturing facility in South Carolina. The facility was designed to produce nearly 2,000 metric tons of rare-earth magnets annually, with approximately 90% of its production originally intended for GM. Although GM terminated the agreement on July 1, 2026, the details of the dispute were newly reported today. VAC has since initiated arbitration proceedings seeking damages related to the canceled agreement. Here’s where things get interesting… Energy Fuels ($UUUU) previously announced an agreement to acquire VAC for approximately $1.9 billion. According to Reuters, the dispute could potentially affect the acquisition price as the companies evaluate the financial implications of losing such a significant customer. reuters.com/legal/litigation…
