Releasing Flow 0.3.0, tons of perf improvements and a whole new settings panel and finally a fully working codex integration without any of the weirdness. The app should feel snappy overall and should use less RAM. ⚡ Perf improvements - 1000× fewer sidebar refreshes during an agent turn (1,002 → 1) - 700× faster git status parsing (765 ms → <1 ms on a 1M-file diff) - 260× faster ⌘ shortcuts (1.04 ms → 4 µs per keypress) - sessions save off the main thread so typing never waits on disk - Lazy loading of unfocused surfaces, helps with faster startup and RAM usage 🚀 New Features - Proper codex integration - codex hooks are a mess, flow now read permission requests using terminal escape sequences so you don’t get repeated unnecessary notifications - A settings panel, we used to only read ghostty’s config but a standalone GUI settings panel was required. you can change a ton of stuff and behaviours Lot of time and effort went into getting this out, give it a shot! - getflowterm.app/

i think people are just going to make the same mistake over and over. and that mistake is being opportunistic you think there's some gap, some niche that's unexploited, and it would be a really easy win but nothing is easy. there's really nothing like that. and it's a complete slog to work on stuff that is purely opportunistic and the only thing you really should be optimizing for is being able to stay in the game for super long

doing perf work with agents is magical ✨

Flow 0.4.0 seems to crash for some people on startup, if that is you, please download the latest 0.4.1 release.

Flow 0.4.0 is out! Flow now runs on top of the latest Ghostty 1.4.0 so we get: - Kitty clipboard protocol - Kitty graphics animation - Faster output, less memory, and 50 MB scrollback by default - 356 more bundled themes Flow also checks links from terminal output before opening them now. Cmd-clicking a link to an app or a script is blocked just like Ghostty's protections. getflowterm.app/

ghostty 1.4 support landing on main soon. I had been maintaining a few patches which improved some things, ghostty 1.4 has these upstream so I don't have to maintain it anymore. And we automatically get the perf and kitty improvements from 1.4 As always @mitchellh thanks for the great work!

I like to look at claims like this in case I can improve Ghostty. I grabbed your source and immediately spotted the issue: your read loop overwrites a 64 KiB ring. Everything older is discarded unparsed per tick. You're faster because you're not actually terminal emulating. It means the number isn't a throughput number. In a kitten benchmark run at the rate you're claiming, roughly 6.6 MB arrives per 60 Hz tick and 64 KiB of it gets parsed. You're read(2)-ing 100% of the data and parsing about 1% of it. There are other minor issues (a small fixed scrollback in a preallocated ring buffer, no grapheme clustering, throwing away data like OSC 8 URIs, etc.), but the major one is simply that you're discarding ~99% of the input. For plain text, e.g. your cat benchmark, the final screen ends up looking right, but the scrollback is missing 99% of the file and each retained chunk starts mid-line. As soon as there are escape sequences in the dropped spans, your emulator is fully out of sync and invalid: a cut inside a CSI prints the parameters as text, and any SGR, mode, title, or alt-screen change in the gap is just... gone. FYI, this is why I don't like when people point at refterm as a terminal benchmark. refterm implements a TINY subset of what a terminal emulator must support, it's closer to a fast file reader, not a terminal emulator. I also don't mean any shade by this. I like to look at technology objectively to try to learn something and improve my own craft and work. So I'm sharing what I found. I modified your code very slightly to parse on every full buffer (rather than per tick). And the results are attached. Both use main commit in each repo at the time of this post. Note the graph is in log scale, the discrepancy between performance for things like Kitty images is measured in GB/s.

Prople keep saying this, but never provide any concrete reason as to why. IMO tests are more important than ever if you are moving fast. But as anything else you need to put in some time and make sure they are actually useful.
Tests are nearly useless now. I deleted all test suites running in my projects. It is literally saving me $$ and also making me faster. I've asked a few popular maintainers, and they seem to agree that new tests/contributions coming off agents are not worth. In Infact, they are worse than the usual branch-coverage work developers do lol.

Today I am launching RamenID 🚀 One platform to drive more users with student ID verification and discounts 🎓🧑‍🎓 You’re losing out on users and revenue if your SaaS doesn’t offer student discounts. Students make great early users who help shape your product. I’ve already got a few users through student discounts on my own SaaS RamenID verifies a student's .edu email and mints a fresh discount code from your payment gateway (@polar_sh, @dodopayments, @stripe) for your product in real time. If you only want student verification, share your static shortlink with students or make an API call. You'll be notified via webhook/email. Connect your SaaS at ramenid.com Verify students. Offer discounts. Grow faster. 26,000+ universities supported!

We got @trq212 leaving anthropic before gta6
I’ve left Anthropic after more than a year of working on Claude Code and seeing it scale larger than I ever imagined. I have really loved working at Ant and believe deeply in the mission, and most of all, the idea of a race to the top. The idea that if we work hard and responsibly, we can raise the bar and inspire others to great outcomes. And if we all push each other to be better, things can be radically good. I will carry the spirit of this with me forever. My colleagues at Anthropic are the most talented, thoughtful, competent, and earnest people I have ever met. I am glad they are at the wheel and trust them deeply. To the community on X, thank you for everything. You’ve made this the most fun (and sometimes stressful) job I’ve ever had. For me, it is time for a bit of a break before diving into something new. If you want more excellent Claude Code content, you should follow @addyosmani , @lydiahallie, @_catwu, @ClaudeDevs and of course @bcherny who started it all.

Released SuperCmd 2.0 🚀 Now with Liquid Glass, a better Window Switcher, an improved Dictation experience, and so many more enhancements... Here are some key details: 1. Liquid Glass 🍸 A new option to choose your panel style alongside Frosty. On macOS 27, the transparency slider works on top of OS-level transparency. 2. Window Switcher ⚡️ Get a bird's-eye view of all open windows across all spaces and desktops, and switch instantly with zero animation. 3. Dictation 🎙️ Added chime sound effects at the start and end of dictation, with an option to copy text to the clipboard. 4. Check for Updates: Raycast Extensions 🧩 A new "Store: Check for Updates" command checks whether new versions are available for any of your installed extensions, and you can bulk update them. 5. Custom Fonts 🎠 Choose the font for your launcher that fits your vibe!! More key updates > When you press back, the text gets selected so you can quickly clear the launcher > Define Word now does fuzzy matching if the word doesn't match exactly > New "Toggle Hide Notes" command to hide notes if they obstruct your view > Open files with an app, and share files / clipboard contents from within the launcher > Option to use Spotlight for file search (for privacy-focused users) > Improved Notes with support for nested numbering and translucent scroll at the top and bottom > Improved translucency around the edges throughout the launcher > Ability to configure Esc key behaviour > Copying an item from the clipboard history moves it to the top And many more bug fixes 🐞 2.0 is the continuation of 1.0.9, since people were confusing the Swift version with SuperCmd v1. Here's the complete changelog: supercmd.sh/en/changelog#ver… Download: supercmd.sh
