A great @cpdme webinar this evening with @DrMikeFarquhar on “why we (still) need to talk about fatigue”. Maybe it's a good time to re-plug these posters, produced by @EastEnglandAmb based (with permission) on @Assoc_Anaes #fighttfatigue resources.

What do people with smaller teams use for roadmap and idea tracking (B2B products)? We used Aha in a previous place but it very much feels like overkill for the current team/product. Mainly I want customer-facing idea portal and some roadmapping through to Jira for the dev team.

In Python, variables & data structures don't "contain" objects: they "point", "bind", or "refer" to them. This is an important concept that's both easy to overlook and hard to internalize. (Thread) 🧵 Note: I'm treating value & object as synonyms. Same with variable & name.

I've seen a lot of people asking "why does everyone think Twitter is doomed?" As an SRE and sysadmin with 10+ years of industry experience, I wanted to write up a few scenarios that are real threats to the integrity of the bird site over the coming weeks.

Well, a large part of the tech community and some big names (Stephen Fry for one) I follow has either left Twitter or added to their social media apps by signing up to Mastodon. What is it? mjcarty.com/2022/11/12/masto… How to find me there? fosstodon.org/web/@thinknuts
These are the actions of a Govt that knows its time is up… - Full on raid of the public purse - Enrich their donors as much as possible in time left - Leave the treasury and national debt in the worst possible state for new Govt to sot out Criminal.

Quite amazing… Hidden for decades, the feeder canal under Churchill Way finally sees the light. (Photo via Cardiff Days Gone any Fakebook group.)

I see #Evri and @Wayfair are working hard to compete for "worst customer service" this weekend.

An hour of sitting down and working out the design and flow of a complex thing (and complex varies depending on skill) is 10x better than just diving in to a whole day of writing and rewriting code and results in cleaner, more readable and logical code.

This tweet this morning made me stop and think about this. I've spent the last decade and a bit working in communications and there are ways to solve this. So, a thread on how to make hybrid meetings work.

In all these sizes, you can find equipment to help that will make life easier. But realistically, communicating effectively over video requires discipline and a culture of inclusivity and embracing of the tech.

It can work and it does - I've spent most of my working life remote to colleagues and customers.
